well, so today in the Emmys, the two shows I really like (Grey's Anatomy and House) got shut out. nothing! that bites!

damn, they didn't give an award for the bomb episode! or the train wreck episode of Grey's Anatomy! wtf is up with that! if you ever saw those episodes, you would know why I feel this way!

so what else is new? well,...

yes, try to schedule ahead of time... at least a week... maybe more if the place you are going is busy.

As a general rule of thumb, it doesn't hurt to show up 10-15 minutes early to check in with the receptionist and fill out paperwork.
But for people like me, that opperate in a small private practice- there is no receptionist to check in with- so in that case you show up on time, and your therapist will go over the paperwork with you before your massage starts.
You can always ask on the phone when you book your appointment! Always better to arrive early than late!

don't be afraid to tell your therapist that it is your first time, and that you are nervous and don't know what to expect. they will be able to answer all of your questions so that you are able to relax easily.

tipping is good... same as dining- 15 -20%, unless the bill indicates service charge/gratuity included.
sophronia:
oh and,

thats a pretty heavy tattoo you are planning to get. Good luck with the emotional/mental aspect of that.
I'm sure that you will have a lot to process after going through with your plans for it... your dream is quite on par with that.

well, the past few days, I've been working outside 8 hours doing helping hands. yeah, cart pushing. the full-time person is currently on vacation. and so I was scheduled.

so today, I decided to wear my pedometer, and measure how far I walked and the number of steps I took. in an 8 hour shift, the pedometer had me with over 38,800 steps (yes, over...

hey, you know what? Res Life is tough stuff! I feel like my mind is in overload right now just seeing how everything works.
sophronia:
best for you to get a friend to refer you to someone.

most experienced therapists use a combination of MANY different techniques depending on how your body is respoding to what they are doing. I always spend about 15 minutes talking to my clients before every session so that I understand what their needs are. You don't have to request any certain style... just explain what you told me.... and leave it up to them.

Don't be afraid to give some feedback during your massage if you don't enjoy what the therapist is doing- it isn't offensive and will help you get a better service.

well, I think my financial aid stuff is taken care of. I made a phone call to the Financial Aid office, they told me they needed proof of my non-default loan status. aka, a letter saying I'm in deferment.

so, on Monday, I provide that letter. if they need more, my response was "well, I got a student loan last year, do you think that's...

sophronia:
thats great.... i'm glad that your financial aid is back on track.

I've been feeling rather disappointed in myself lately (among other things), so this morning I've been doing internet research on the 40 mile long Ko'olau ridge trail. Not that I would live to tell about it if I tried to do it now... but... someday.... I would like to. And for some reason.... just thinking about doing it someday has been enough to keep my spirits up today.

So, ANYWAYS... in my research efforts.... I turned up this article about some geocaching CRAZINESS ! ! !

and, of course, I thought that you would get a kick out of it.

*I'm editing to add...
wow... I'm really intrigued by this geocaching thingy... I' had no idea how cool it could be. How did you get into it? I had never even heard of it until I read your journal.

f*cking hell, I need a serious vacation from my life. things, when they start to seem to get under control, always manage to spiral out of control. and usually without letting me know ahead of time or being something I can control.

bills keep piling up. figure I'm behind right now about $1500 on my bills. give or take. it really sucks. and it'll keep...

well, my check cleared, so I don't have to worry about paying my insurance until December. yay for me, I am fully insured on my car for a few more months. now, I have to decide if I want to re-up with State Farm (paying about $500 for six months....includes a "hospital" thing that saves me more money for multi-policy then it costs me) or...

well, another week down. kind of sad, my weeks are starting to become, well, pretty boring. I work, I sleep, and that's about it. the days off is when I get to do some stuff that I can't do during the week (laundry, cleaning). in fact, I "dusted" my room this week (I say "dusted" because what I do is use the hose attachment to...

Glad to hear that you get to start what you want to do soon, I got a year left on me. It scarry we have to much in common, I am almost at 2 years at being single and my last relationship was not good at all. Yea I get called a nice guy all the time and can never find a girl, I also hate clubs and bars. So if you find a spot let me know and if I find someplace I will let you know also. I just hate it when a girl tells you that as she is nicely saying there is no way in hell she would date me. My insurance just got cancelled and I am trying to save up a little money to get new insurace.

Yea the college I go to is worse for girls, tons of them there, lots of them single but they are all 17 to 22 a little younge for me. it's like being a kid looking threww the window into a candy store you can look but you can't touch. frown

well, I survived the 9 or so straight overnight shifts in a row. and not too shabby, either. things were completed, the front end looked good when everyone got in at 7:30 (usually me waiting for them to get in) and the lot was cleared. and no fatalities over night.

since nothing was said when my till got pulled, I'm guessing all is good. plus,...

well, so, the past day or 2....has royally sucked!

first, work....

around 4:15, a guy (A) comes in followed by 2 other people (B and C) screaming about how we have to call "the damn police" because B and C, according to A, tried to rob him in the parking lot. I'm going "Uhh, huh?" in my head and reply "Let me call a manager."...

so the bills keep piling up, the phone calls always happen. it does suck. but, hopefully, in about a month, everything will be paid for and caught up (or even paid some more than minimal) when classes start again for me. and I can't wait.

2 classes and internship this semester, 2 classes and internship next semester, and I graduate. in May, my car should...
