well, I think my financial aid stuff is taken care of. I made a phone call to the Financial Aid office, they told me they needed proof of my non-default loan status. aka, a letter saying I'm in deferment.
so, on Monday, I provide that letter. if they need more, my response was "well, I got a student loan last year, do you think that's proof enough?"
once that is done, hopefully, its about 2 weeks until I get a fat refund check in (we're talking close to $5000 I think!) and then I can pay my bills and get current!
joys....I do think I'll start answering the phone on Monday or Tuesday when they call, to say "in about 2 weeks, I'm getting a refund check. once that clears, I'll make payment" and if they ask "How long will that take?" I'll respond with "I don't know, how long do large checks take to clear, with the new Federal regulations?" and go from there!
I'm just hoping the school does an Electronic Funds Transfer instead. quicker, and I'd assume easier for them, since we use the same bank!
still do need a vacation, though! a chance to get away from my family! anyone in the Rochester area?
also, September 8th, Lennon plays in Buffalo. I do hope to go (have to get the time off from work). working with the upstate NY group to get the advertising out, too! so that should be good (and, who knows, might meet up with some other members, so I won't be at the show sitting all by myself....score!)
and that's about it!

I've been feeling rather disappointed in myself lately (among other things), so this morning I've been doing internet research on the 40 mile long Ko'olau ridge trail. Not that I would live to tell about it if I tried to do it now... but... someday.... I would like to. And for some reason.... just thinking about doing it someday has been enough to keep my spirits up today.
So, ANYWAYS... in my research efforts.... I turned up this article about some geocaching CRAZINESS ! ! !
and, of course, I thought that you would get a kick out of it.
*I'm editing to add...
wow... I'm really intrigued by this geocaching thingy... I' had no idea how cool it could be. How did you get into it? I had never even heard of it until I read your journal.
