well, enough of the rant. thanks for the comments....I'll be working on replying to everyone over the next week. yes, I read comments and journals. I might not respond, though....for a few reasons:
1. if I have nothing really to say, I'm not saying a word.
2. I don't just "respond". I put thought into things. if you're wondering why, read about introverts. we really...

huge, unhappy, bitchy whiney rant, you're warned.
so, today, I got the call from Spencerport. as a way of keeping track, so far, for jobs I've applied for in the past 8 months or so (since around April 2008), I have:
16 full time school counselor positions (actually, that's just districts, some districts I applied to for more than one job).
at least 2 other...

Are there still opportunities for work in the inner cities? Seems like awhile back you could get work if you were willing to relocate to some of the "hot zones" for public schools and there was actually funding available to help with relocation costs and also signing bonuses. I'm not sure how you would go about finding out about that...wasn't it through Americorps or something? Obviously that might not be ideal for location but it might be the chance to get your experience so that you can get ahead of the "need experience to get a job" conundrum.

well, sitting here today, I've heard nothing about the Spencerport job I interviewed for before Christmas. this kind of sucks, the entire waiting game. seriously.
however, I did find out that someone I work with knows people there. in fact, she refers to the one Assistant Principal who interviewed me as her uncle. he's a family friend. so she's putting in a good word for...

Inside connections never hurt. Good luck!
well, New Years Eve, I got to push carts in slush. which made for one hell of a workout.
I figured I would sleep nicely that night, since I was getting over a cold and had a great workout/got quite tired out by pushing those damn carts.
nope...I got another cold. thankfully, yay fast immune system, think I'm almost over this one as well.

I have both dealers and users packing up and leaving, no questions asked after the letters were served due to the results of the drug sniffing dog searches on the exterior of my properties
I love this, I may spend the money for a dog and training for my security crews so I can do regular and random sweeps. I've had the cops kill somebody, even had a multiple murder on my properties ... so removing the dealers and users will go a long way towards reduce crime and improving living conditions for everybody

Thanks. I'll be ok, I'm sure...eventually.
well, its a new year, so I guess I best post something.
let's see....today, I got to push carts for about 6 1/2 hours. which isn't too bad....except for this damn snow. which meant I had no footing. which led to me only pushing a small amount of carts because, well, I just couldn't get the traction needed. it sucked. and was tough work. I...

so I just got back from the interview. the position would be working with IEP students. less of the Alternative setting and more of the mainstream population.....always a good thing.
so I iwll know early January about the position...guess I keep plugging away!
so what else? well, when I asked "What are you looking for?", the Principal repeated back to me quite a bit of...

will keep my fingers crossed for the job!!!
and if the stupid meds would just let me be selective about the things I forget and be LONG term things that would rock. I could forget most of last year and some of the dickheads in my past!

But its just short term. Its usually when I have conversations after I take my meds...during the day I am ok, and dont talk to ppl much because they are mostly all at work...but at night? Ya I am all fuckerd up and forgetful! lol

Good luck with the job, it does sound like an interesting job. That much snow was almost a state of emergency? We had that much snow and the malls were still packed with shoppers! I guess people in NY just can't handle the snow.
so right now, well, last night, i went to sleep and it was pretty clear out. now, I look outside, and well, I see lots and lots of snow. we have 8" to 11" expected of snow fall today. and its in the 20's F (-6 C for the Canadian friends here). so a whee bit chilly as well.

so Brockport called me today. no, I did not get the job. I do appreciate them calling back....hmm, maybe I should send out a "Thank you" note to the Principal.
so i did ask for feedback...I dress very well and present myself very well. the concern was my theoretical perspective. I tend to be more Existential, a la Viktor Frankl. the counselors felt that my...

I think you really don't want to live on sheets of ice. It's very strange.

well, its 3 PM, and the school district (Brockport) said they were going to call me either Friday or Monday (with the idea of someone starting the next day). since its 3 PM and the end of the school day, I'm guessing I did not get the job ...bummers!
but, I do have other jobs on the horizon. I keep searching for Res Life positions....

Well I am hoping you got better news after the blog. About your blog yesterday - I was voted "Mostly likely to die before 21" in HS...and always thought I'd die at 36...so don't be too surprised if you see 46.
Thanks for your feedback on my blog. As to YOUR questions:
1. does it surprise you to hear that I am single, very single, and while not happy about it, single for 4 to 8 years now (depending on how you count things). Not sure about the counting thing - Leap Year?
But I knew you were single. I think it is a habit, like many others, that is easy to fall into. I still think the first step to a "cure" is to make sure you spontaneously strike up conversations with 3 women a day. At the supermarket. "Do you know how to figure out which cantaloupe is good - I always get it wrong?" A waitress - talk about something, ask about something, beyond the basic requirements of ordering food. Etc.
At the early habit forming stage don't worry about it going anywhere - just get into the habit of talking to women.
2. people say I'm sarcastic. do I seem that way?
Haven't picked up on it here...

That's not bad for an alignment ... it's when you need parts that the price skyrockets
