so right now, well, last night, i went to sleep and it was pretty clear out. now, I look outside, and well, I see lots and lots of snow. we have 8" to 11" expected of snow fall today. and its in the 20's F (-6 C for the Canadian friends here). so a whee bit chilly as well.
fell asleep around 4:15 AM or so. slept until around 12:30 PM or so, not too much. okay sleep. before I went to sleep, there was a power flicker (power off, on, off again, on again). so made sure my computer was fine then shut it off for the night.
and I see something like this webcam of Lake Ontario.

oh, yeah, and the reason why i was woken up....the phones were not working. what I wasn't told is the fact that the phones were unplugged. with the cordless phones, there is one "main base" and one "charger base". one phone was fine, it was already "associated" with the main base. however, my step-father, in his ADHD glory, kept putting the other phone on the main base, then taking it off and going "Its not working." duh...it has to sit there for a while. it took him some time to understand that.
and there was a phone call for me. Spencerport Schools will be interviewing me on Tuesday for a long-term sub position. this is the job that if I get it, will pay about $200 a day. which I can live with. the job will also be from January through April. I do have a few weeks there of break, where I don't get paid. but outside of that, I can live with that pay. that's for sure. and given some of the feedback I have recently received, I should be in good shape.
so fingers crossed. wish me luck. if I get the job, about 1/2 the month's paycheck goes to bills. the other 1/2 goes to savings. for moving. so I can find a permanent job!
