so one week until I take my road trip. I'll be driving 5 hours (give or take) to Benson, VT for a 3 day interview. the dress code (as told to me) is:
sweatshirts and jeans....dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes because you'll be walking a lot, its not a formalized interview, so you can leave the shirts and ties at home.

the plan....drive out there (leaving here around 6 AM or so) to arrive there at noon...its a 5 hour drive, but figuring I'll give myself some "breathing room".....about 220 miles in a Dodge Neon! that should suck!
then I leave there on the 13th around 2 AM to drive back...another...

Trying to thwart Westboro is OK. They are wacked.
I couldn't listen to their talking points [as they were].
It's sickening that much Hate is so anti-jesus.
Hint; add a cup of Calvados to your Mulled-cider for a kick.

good to see you still here
hey there.....go to Rover's Morning Glory website and read about his planned protest of the Westboro "Baptist" Church's protest at a fallen Marine's funeral tomorrow. this "Church" is the one that goes to the funerals of fallen military personnel and protest, under the guise that since the United States no longer is a homophobic country, God is killing our military personnel. you know, the ones...

He is doing well. Got all of the crap sorted at the school, and was besieged with apologies about the incident and the subsequent attitudes over the way it was handled. I think they now have me on speed dial if there is even a thought of something happening.

Those 'Church' people are just wrong! Who disturbs a funeral? Happy to hear something is being done about it!

Hey how did the Raiders do today? The Bills won!
aepaul:
Yeah, looks about right. When I was talking to you in chat, I forgot that the majority that I spent on my tie rods was labor. I think they were $50-60 each. I actually snapped them. Wasn't fun.
so after my scare Tuesday night (read my last blog for details), I bought my car in for an inspection.
yeah, found out why my alignment was out some....and why the steering was somewhat loose....

That's good. When they get to the point where there is squeaking and rattling, they are ready to snap off. I had a Jeep Cherokee in the shop this week that was squirrely and the damn thing snapped on a test drive

so finally got in contact with the person. now its time to fill out a background check form (hmmm...I'm certified in New York state, had to pass a background check AND fingerprinting check). so not too worried.

yeah, my last post, okay, I was half asleep and quite cold. you see, my room is above the UNHEATED garage and the coldness comes up through the floor. add to that windows facing west and north only, and my room can get chilly. so guessing my brain wasn't fully functioning then!
tomorrow, I do a "chat" for 10 to 15 minutes on the phone...

The bottom line is you need the experience ... nobody will hire you for a better job untill you have that experience. So take it as a foot in the door to something better.
The flip side to that is a civil war begins brewing all over again to wipe the slate clean of greedy corporations (our government included) and let people find out about self reliance and autonomy.
Not an easy choice in either direction, but I would rather fight for my rights, then to become a cowering sheep.
I don't get this whole entitlement ideal that seems to have been adopted. It seems that somewhere around 1980 something went really awry.
