Two weeks from today is my dreaded birthday. It's always, ALWAYS, a terrible day for me. Nothing ever seems to go right for me on that day, at least not for the past 10 years.

This year, my birthday also brings with it the 10th anniversary of my dad's passing. Yep. Dad died suddenly on my birthday. I was eating tiramisu while my father was lapsing into a coma. So, I hate that day, and despite always trying to do something fun on it to not dwell, it always blows up in my face. So it's not the getting older I hate, it's the "curse".

On top of that fail, things have been really falling apart on us. Our tax refund was pretty much stolen, and it's going to take a shit ton of time to get it back. We were relying on that to pay off bills and get flights to my sister's wedding in 2 months (that I don't even actually want to go to, to be honest.) We were also hoping to have a little bit of fun with it. But nope.

We're supposed to be going to Denver Comic Con this weekend, but that's even looking iffy because our car broke down yesterday. It's wonderfully taking all the money we don't have, so even if it is fixed by tomorrow evening, we basically have gas money and some money to eat McDonald's all weekend in Denver. And our tickets are non-refundable! YAY!

Despite all this negativity, I'm trying so hard to remain positive. I really need things to work out so I don't become [anymore] unhinged. I'm really hoping that the universe will pull an, "Omg, Sid, we're so sorry!" and help things fall into place.

Hopefully, even though we'll be poor, Comic Con will put smiles on our face and make things at least seem okay again.

And I really want things to work out so I can have a decent birthday this year...

I was really hoping this weekend would be my "in lieu" of having a birthday party, since no one ever shows up when I do have them. (Lots of our friends live in Denver, and Denver is always too far for them to drive down to us, but never too far for us to drive to them) *sigh*

I'm really sorry for the depressing tone of this post. I'm trying to not let things bother me. Really I am. I hope you'll accept a picture of my boobs as an apology.
