There are entire travel agencies (both online and off) that specialize in planning vaykay for singles. One of my good friends, a drug rep who is a TOTAL work junkie, goes away every year on a vacation by herself and uses one of those companies to help her make plans. She's gone on both the kind of vacation where the goal is to "meet" someone and the kind of vacation that is just that.....a vacation....something to clear her head and refresh her soul for a while. I'll see if I can't find out which company(s) she uses, if you're interested.
I know exactly how you feel about the "beautifully perfect" thing. I grew up in Southern California where EVERYONE is the essence of perfection. As someone who is really NOT the beach & bikini kind of person and is NOT a perfect size 4, I was often VERY self conscious about how all my "thin and blonde" friends were getting dates and I wasn't. It's awful....
I left 11 yrs ago for the Pacific Northwest and have grown my confidence tremendously since then. There's a very distinct possibility that I may be moving back to San Diego for a new job and I thought I'd feel all nervy and weird about the perfection thing again but, surprisingly, it really hasn't hit me just yet. Maybe it won't. Hope not. But anyway, all I can say is stay true to yourself and don't put on airs or a special act just to get the girl. She's out there. Maybe the universe is just saving you up for something really, really special and great. Wait for it. (and take a vacation in the meantime!)

Honestly, I have no idea...I think the director is nonplused about the reviews of the show not being edgy enough and that thier's no suprises other than a bunch of great tripple threats in the cast.

Just an FYI in response to your comment in my journal, I didn't have an aneurysm, I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage. There's a difference. There is no way to correlate its occurance to stress and, in fact, after the 5 CT scans, 3 MRIs and the angiogram I've had, the docs think it's probably just a weak blood vessel that I've had since birth whose time had just come. This could have happend years ago or it could have happened when I was 80. No way to predict it. Even if I really DID have an aneurysm, stress is not typically the primary etiology. It's kind of an old wives tale that too much stress can blow yer brains out. High blood pressure is more likely to cause a SAH like mine but stress alone is nearly impossible.

I can honestly say that no matter what I'm doing on set, I'll be having a blast and a half! To contribute to the creation and presentation of something that will entertain people immensely is my only dream. And to be a part of it somehow, whether I'm shining shoes or calling the shots, I'll be having the time of my life!
I could give less of a shit about pay. It's all about the experience. As long as I don't starve to death doing it, I'll be smiling non-stop.
I'll keep the whole absorb-everything pointer in mind. I'm gonna be learning from here to infinity.
I'm gonna go and continue reading and whatnot.
