In what may be the happiest news of this year so far, @drave has let it be known that she's submitted a new set, so let's hope we'll get to see that sometime later in 2017! Here's a somewhat low-res glimpse:

That's very nice, thank you. The rapping paper is terribly funny, I must say. Your English is fantastic and I'm reminded of another German gentleman who spoke this language with impeccable grammar and an exceptionally extensive vocabulary which quite frankly put mine to shame. He's dead now so interpret that how you will but in this holiday season I thought the least I could do is point out that danger can lurk in the most unlikely places. The pen is mightier, etc., etc.  Don't let it get you too. 😉

But many Hopefuls and probably members live under the impression that it's their likes and comments that are essential in turning someone pink, and if that's not solely the case, SG is being just a little unfair. Mind you, I'm really torn about that - I dislike the intransparency and arbitrariness of the process, but it would also take some of the fun out of SG if it were all about numbers. I imagine for the (relatively few) photographers it's very much like you say from your experience. As for SGs, I guess there are many different stories of what the site means to them. I don't follow all that many, but I'd say the ones that are really competitive and networking/ marketing oriented are not so numerous. Some took the SG route as a means of establishing their model brand and are not so interested in the community, others are not so ultra-serious about their modeling but are interested in being a part of the community. Different strokes for different folks, in other words?

Honestly, I stopped thinking about it a while ago. I doubt I'll ever again have a set of the day, but I'll probably shoot a couple more simply because it's fun.
