well, step-father's dad is moved in (at least partially). now its going through the apartment with 30+ years of accumulated stuff. thankfully, the apartment is leased through the end of July....and my step-father's brother (I call him "Uncle" in part out of respect) and his wife (I call her "Aunt" for the same reason) are coming from Chicago to help sort through things.
got up around 5:15 AM. yesterday, very little sleep, so around 9:30 PM, I was "I'm f*cking tired, good night!" about 9:45 PM I got the call to sub, but only 1/2 a day, so I knew I wouldn't be called.
so woke up, though. today was also the day my step-father moved his dad (almost 90, Parkinsons and... Read More
so talked to an old manager of mine. she makes up DVD's for the school her kids attend (her children are active in soccer and such) and I help her out by compiling things (takes a whole five minutes or so of my time, so no big deal).
nice part of her calling....I'll be making these compilations, she will talk to people in the school... Read More
talked to my neighbor...he's in a situation now where he no longer has room for his vehicles. kind of funny.
work last night....interesting. people noticed how things changed in the store I work with when our last store manager started. the previous 2...things were great. in fact, the 2nd store manager I had (Tony), here was someone who, when moving things... Read More
Your friend, along with his wife and daughter are fucked. His former boss was probably fired and under investigation for theft etc.... His employer had every right to make him sign the gag order contract, and had the legal right to terminate his employment for violating it. A judge would have your friend serving time in prison for doing so. As for the lease, the free rent was based on his employment with the company, since your friend is no longer employed by the company, he is in violation of the terms of the lease. So yes, he does have to sign a new lease and pay rent. His former employer will more than likely terminate the employment of his wife and daughter as well if he pushes the free rent issue.
Be carefull about walking out like that, if you lose yor unemployment hearing, you wont get any compensation. Plus a black mark like that on your record will make it virtually immpossible to find a job in today's market ... it's really an employers market with so many people looking for work.
well, tonight starts my first night of five straight overnight shifts. good paycheck. but it can suck at times!
let's see....the previous 2 overnight shifts...the first morning was a cluster fuck. one kid called in, and a slow ass cashier resulted in me running register and not getting out for 1/2 hour after my shift was supposed to end (again, fubar....where one schedule has the... Read More
Sounds like some hard times coming up. But like you say, good money. Hang in there. Sorry for being so absent. Not myself lately. Take care. I mean it.
so my weekend has started. at least weekend from Wegmans. the full-time overnight cashier took Thursday night through Saturday night off....and here's the breakdown of who else knows the overnight job...
me.
the previous full-time overnight cashier, now the pricing coordinator.
a girl trained as an overnight, now full-time in the dairy department.

so subbed yesterday not too bad....it was a 6th grade class I previously subbed for, so I had a good feel for the kids. in fact, many remembered me. four classes of the same thing basically.
and it was an interesting experience.....
the lesson plan....
watch a video
hand out a packet
have the students work on the packet.
I drank and played video games yesterday. I actually think you had a better day than I did. I'm starting to go stir crazy without having a job right now
so Sunday night at work, we had "story hour". the one manager (who used to work as an overnight cashier) asked if I had any interesting stories yet. alas, I did not. he, however, did....
when he worked as an overnight cashier, the store he worked at was notorious for having prostitutes in the area. there was also a manufacturing plant... Read More
I don't see how an an employer, outside of a government agency that requires a security clearance or a law enforcement official associating with a felon, can dictate how you spend your off work time. That is a load of shit. Even an at will employer who claims that "I fired you for hanging out with so-and-so" will look like a retard in court.
As far as the car, it sounds like you might have a sticking relay or intermittant short to ground. Especially if there is any kind of water intrusion or rust near or along the contcts.
