My body is really painful today due to a bad EDS flare up. Probably because it's snowing and freezing here in Colorado. My heart aches for Boston because my friends and family live there, and I'm my head is all stuffed up and disconnected because of everything going on.
I feel sorry for all the families of those who lost somebody in Boston right now. People are hyenas and prey on other's suffering - craving for some strong and dramatic emotions which they can switch off however, together with the TV. In a couple of days the media attention will die down and I hope they get their space to heal broken hearts.
Sorry lady. Sad that it takes a tragedy to remind us that most of our shit is pretty okay in the big picture. I'm certainly adjusting my attitude as of late.
Over the weekend, I got to go to a Prohibition Repeal party at a local brewery (it's an annual party). You were required to dress in 1920's or 1930's garb and had to have the password to the speakeasy to get in. There was a door behind the brewery in a winding hallway with a slit in it, and you'd knock, the slit would open,... Read More
You know, I can understand when people say "her tattoos suck" and on the same picture somebody else says "beautiful ink!!!" as tastes differ. But damn. I never understood how blind people are when it comes to a body. How some can see "obese" and "skinny" in the same picture is beyond me.
And anyway. They are idiots because you are neither. You are just fine.
Seeing you with "normal" hair kind of confused me for a moment. I do have to say you look cute with that though! Did you have/keep the dress? What I can see of it looks really nifty.
Oh and you eyebrows matching your hair in that one picture is DEH BOMB! Also, the rest of the make up.
Watched the video... It's really sad that some people have to go through this kind of suffering every day and yet still be completely misjudged by others.
There's still no cure for some diseases and unfortunately this is one of them. But I wish that'll change, that cures for these diseases are discovered, so that you and everyone else who suffer with diseases like this don't have to suffer anymore.
All my positive thoughts to you and everyone else who suffer from rare diseases.
Unfortunately, I'm only seeing this blog post now and Rare Disease Day has already gone by this year, but I'm sharing the message nevertheless.
And just remember that, despite everything you have to go through, there are those who'll be always there for you, those that hopefully make life worth living, despite all your hardships.
And also, yeesh. Creationists bitching about museums are aggravating, to say the least. I found out some Creationists bought the park with the giant sit-in T-Rex that was in Pee Wee's Big Adventure, and was depressed as a result.
Things in my life haven't exactly been very exciting anyway, but I'm already feeling like 2013 will be better than last year. Even despite the bump in the road I hit yesterday: Finding out my mother has skin cancer.
I'm hoping that it will only require the removal of the cancerous mole she has, and nothing more.... Read More
I hope your Mom does will with the skin cancer. It's awesome to hear about all the dorky things you bought and I can't wait to see what they look like! I hope your trip to Denver is a lot of fun.
If you had a $100 gift card to Amazon, what would you get?
The lens I want for my new camera seems to be sold out, I'm totally okay with waiting for it to come back in stock, but it still isn't the whole $100. I always have this problem with Amazon. I've got a wish list and everything, but when it comes to actually... Read More
For some reason I seldomly buy things on Amazon off my wishlist. There is stuff I've been wanting for years and instead I often buy something that I see in this moment. So weird.
Also, Amazon is evil. ^^
I haven't updated in awhile, so I figured I'd do so while I've got dinner cooking in the oven. Chicken legs in a caramelized Asian BBQ sauce. The sauce is made from scratch, naturally. I'm not really one to microwave dinner. I like to make everything from my own imagination. I guess that's the reason I got to be on Master... Read More
Yes, when I saw The Hobbit it was in 3D / HFR format (but not Imax). I've read a wide range of opinions about the HFR, so your mileage may vary, as they say. But I liked it, and I didn't have any issues with it. In fact for me, it wasn't all that big of a deal. I don't see many 3D movies -- for most things, I prefer 2D -- so maybe I was more focused on that, so to speak. I thought the HFR did make things look sharper and clearer, but it wasn't super distracting or anything. So to be honest, I thought the whole discussion about it was blown out of proportion. But like I say, that's just me.
I like Tarantino a lot, and I do want to see Django Unchained, but it sounds like it might be a little too violent for my taste, so I'm thinking about waiting for it to come out on video. Probably I should see it in a theater though.
By the way, have you seen Sukiyaki Western Django? I liked it a lot. It's pretty crazy, but I thought it worked. You might like it.
