I'm sorry I haven't updated yet this year!
Things in my life haven't exactly been very exciting anyway, but I'm already feeling like 2013 will be better than last year. Even despite the bump in the road I hit yesterday: Finding out my mother has skin cancer.
I'm hoping that it will only require the removal of the cancerous mole she has, and nothing more. And she always wondered why I never joined her and my sister at the tanning salon or at the beach to lay in the sun. I'm a firm believer of not being in the sun without sun block. Even in the winter, I'm slathering it on!
Anyway, onto happier things! I've bought a whole ton of nerdy things recently. A new purse in shape of an AT AT, a tank top of stormtrooper armor, a t-shirt that looks like Frodo's outfit wearing the ring around his neck, and a Portal shirt. I'll take pictures of me in them (or with them) this weekend.
I entered a contest to be crowned "prom queen" at a nerd prom next month. I'm hoping to win so I may express my love of being a dork.
I'll post a link (despite there being one on my twitter) later when the competition gets going.
I'm going up to Denver this weekend. I'm excited to do something fun! We're going to the Museum of Science with some awesome people we haven't seen in awhile. I'm secretly hoping that the crazy Creationist tour will be going on while we're there so we can follow them and hear them talk about how all the fossils are "fake". And, yes, that is a thing that happens here in Colorado! (I've been really into Creationist theory vs. Evolution recently, and love watching the debates people come up with. Obviously, I'm on the Evolution side.)
Next week, I'm going to see "Manos: The Hands of Fate" in the theater. Seriously, google it. It's terrible, then the week after, I'm going to see "Plan 9 from Outer Space", which is also awful, and I'm so excited!

I hope your Mom does will with the skin cancer. It's awesome to hear about all the dorky things you bought and I can't wait to see what they look like! I hope your trip to Denver is a lot of fun.
