I'm gonna be completely honest with you all... I was quite disappointed in the comments I got when some of you found out I'm a Good Charlotte fan. Yes, I AM A GOOD CHARLOTTE FAN. And I have been since I was about 15. That's right, 5 years now. Before they even got signed. I have friends and family from their hometown, so I got to hear them early on when they formed.
The reason I love them so much is because it was their music and their music alone that got me through so much shit. They got me through family issues, deaths, divorces, ect. When my dad passed away last year, it was their music that kept me sane. They write songs about things I'm going through at the moment I hear them. Not many people will talk about how their family member walked out on them or how their friends have passed away. It's just something most people don't converse about.
Growing up, I didn't have the loving kind of TV family. My family never talked about feelings or anything. The only time I heard the phrase "I love you" was when I was in a real bad car accident 2 years ago. I needed a release, and mine just happened to be GC.
They are great guys. I've met them a few times. I have my guitar signed by them. I've seen them live 12 times, and I've bought every single one of their albums on the day they came out. So be assholes, make fun of me for something I'm passionate about, for something that pretty much saved my life.

where I work, people are always like "ewwww good charlotte, they are not punk rock, they are just mass marketed and trying to make money" and I'm like, everyone in music wants to make money, otherwise cd's would be free.
I think GC write really good songs...I also think avril lavigne's new album is good, and people tease me for that. I don't really care. keeping up with what's 'cool' to like is exhausting. and not liking something 'cuz people say you shouldn't is as lame as only liking something because people say you should.
and the new album is great. I think they will have a career as long and as good as Green Day ( whom everyone also dismissed)
