I really do love the new site so much, but what the hell is with all the negativity about it? I think it's beautiful, and like everything ever in the world, when something changes, you've got to get used to it. If you really hate it that much, no one's forcing anyone to accept the change. There are options, like not using the site... It's always the same people who complain, threaten to disband, but stay anyway just to keep the cycle going.
I feel awful for the great team that worked tirelessly to get this new site going, and having those same rabble rousers yelling at them over and over again. I'm betting those same people wouldn't be so fucking happy if something they worked on for months and tested for months were ripped to shreds by someone else.
Like with most things, there's a bumpy start. It happens. No amount of beta testing can withstand massive usage. As someone who had Diablo III, prior to launch (I have a friend at Blizzard), I know this. I was prepared not to be able to play the first day of open launch. That's a hiccup. SG is having some of them, but seriously, it's not that bad. These guys are processing data and working as fast as they can. You can't expect perfection right out of the gate. Someone is always going to find fault.
Life's too short and too hard (for some of us) to sit around and be negative. If you have issues, you can say so, but be an adult and be civil about it. There's no need for anyone to fly off the hinge here and start calling names and throwing "fuck this" around. It's really annoying.
@Trevor and I beta tested this site for awhile, so I guess we're used to using it a bit. Both of us have seen some changes we'd like made, and pointed out bugs, and staff was very accommodating to us. The point is, if you want something "fixed" being polite about it is the best thing for you to do...
And I'll be so happy to have my skull emojis back!
