Hello there.
I haven't been absent, just lurking. I came down with a bout of the flu a couple of weeks ago (luckily, I got sick the day after the big 5th anniversary with the husband), and I'm just now getting better. I'm still sneezing like crazy, but I'll take that over the sick any day.
Like I indicated in the previous paragraph, Trevor and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. For those of you who don't know, we met here on SG waaaaaay back in the day, and ended up together after years of friendship. Yep, I'm still in love with that asshole ginger kid.
We had a very low key anniversary. We really wanted to go back to Mexico where we spent our honeymoon and were there for Day of the Dead, but you know, the economy and all that. So T made me breakfast with lots of bacon, we went to the artsy theater downtown, and had a yummy dinner at the fanciest-menued and yummiest restaurant in town.
While getting entirely too sick to function the next day sucked royally, I'm beginning to bounce back just in time for all the Halloween-y goodness going on.
There are Coffin Races this weekend and parties to attend, as well as another Rifftrax Live event for, arguably, the worst movie ripoff of "The Birds" ever.
I've also made the fundamental decision to not attend my high school reunion this year. It seems no one took into account anyone who moved away from the tiny Rhode Island town I grew up in (because barely anyone did). They're asking $60 a head with no sit down dinner or alcohol included. I'm not paying $500+ to fly back East, and have to pay for my own drinks while people alienate me like they did way back when and whisper about how I'm apparently a porn star. Seriously, that's the rumor about me. Apparently posing for Suicide Girls means I must also take on multiple dicks at once live on camera.
Whatever, I'm happy with my life. I don't need people to tell me I should feel as bad because my mommy and daddy don't still support me or give me a trust fund like all of them. How mom and dad didn't build me a house on their land or give me a job at their business... Basically, this is a party for all the kids who still hang out together to pay $60 to go to and manipulate to their advantage. Plus there's going to be a DJ... What is this, prom?

pfft!! total rip off!!!
i dunno if my HS even had any reunions!
glad you're feeling better! I'm getting over a cold as well. Thankfully a relatively mild one.
No point in going to a high school reunion when it's that far away and expensive. People in general seem to not understand SG or bother to take the 5 minutes it takes to read a wikipedia page that explains it all. *sigh*
