Spent the morning doing my best to get Comic-Con passes for Trevor and I. I got to the authentication page when Comic Con International decided to fucking pull the plug on registration.
Yeah, it makes sense to cancel that shit when the server was down for two hours, but to cancel it when it all started working again is complete and utter stupidity. The funny thing was that I wasn't even remotely angry when I was constantly hitting refresh forever, but I was goddamn pissed when I got oh-so-close and they ripped it out from under me.
*deep breaths*
In other news, I'm still pretty sick. Sadly, it looks like because of that, we won't be able to host our annual "Orphans' Thanksgiving". Mainly, I don't think I'll be up to cooking. More notably, the house is a complete disaster, and I'm not up to the task of cleaning feeling like this. Also, some asshat stole our trashcan, so we have to wait for a new one to be delivered in order to be able to have our trash taken away... Yeah, I know... Stupid.
But regardless of how crumby I feel, we're still having a Meet Up in Denver the night before Thanksgiving. I hope you CO kids who stop in on my journal here can find the time to come have fun with us if you too are still here for the holiday.
I guess the bright side among all the stupid lately is that I am no longer violently ill, just irritatedly ill. My appetite is still absolute crap, but I'm hoping that will change once I can get my hands on some horrible-for-me-yet-delicious Chinese food. (T has been warning me against eating it despite my rock solid cravings for it)
Another not-so bright side, I seem to be growing a second head on my chin in the form of a pimple...
If it didn't hurt so badly, maybe I could harness its hypnosis powers, but since it does hurt, I'm trying to exterminate it... To no avail. *sigh* I'm 26 years old, why do I have a zit this enormous!?
Anyway, I finished The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest last night when I should have been sleeping. I enjoyed it very much! (Now I can see the movie) I haven't read a book that enjoyable in awhile. The last book I read before this started out pretty awesome, then fizzled by the middle of the book so badly, that I couldn't finish it. It kept going on unimportant tangents, and I just couldn't take it anymore. I should know better than to pick up a readable book (other than a cookbook) from the "bargain" section of Borders.
Well, I've been wide awake all night, and pretty irritable over this whole Comic-Con deal, so I think I may sleep some...
x0x0,
Sid
