I start my new job on Thursday. I'm kind of excited and nervous all at the same time. My first real non-orientation shift is Sunday.
At least I won't have to literally build a store this time like my last job. The walls at Apple literally swallowed my arm my first day in-store. You know those backlit photos of products all over the walls in those stores? Those things are the biggest pain in the ass to change and the wall collapses back to do so. It takes at least 4 people to change those things, and if someone in the group isn't paying attention, your arm can get stuck between two pieces of the wall. That's what happened. It drew blood.
I'm starting a new craft project this coming weekend, and I'm so super excited about it. I'm going to be selling these babies on Etsy in my shop: Sidduction. I'll give you a hint: It involves mummies. And it's awesome! I've been wanting to make these for a long time, and my new job at the costume shop is enabling me to acquire the correct crafting materials for this idea. Granted, I came across a similar tutorial in a magazine that lead to this idea. The tutorial was a little more complicated and expensive to execute, but after I sell some of these creations, I think I will try my hand at the other craft in the tutorial and sell it as well.
EEE! I just can't wait!
Speaking of the costume shop; I'm still trying to figure out what in hell I'm doing for halloween. I am, however tasked with making a Sharktopus costume. Not for me, but it'll be hilarious. I'm sure I'm going to be a ghost or zombie of some sort. I'm still trying to figure out my "character"'s era and manner of death. I'm leaning toward flapper or saloon girl. I really don't want a "sexy" costume. That shit bothers me. I mean, traditionally, Halloween costumes were meant to scare away malevolent spirits.
In any event, that's things with me in a nutshell.
As always, please leave some love on Shoot to Thrill. I'm almost getting too sad to keep seeing it rotting away in MR.
