he got in on thursday afternoon and we went out for some amaaazing chinese food and then later to a few bars downtown and let me tell you i had more than my fair share to drink, though i managed to a) behave myself and b) not vom on his shoes. well, ok, i was not drunk enough to vom. but that's not the point.

on friday, we met miss malloreigh for megagood indian food (i swear, this week has been all about me getting back into ethnic food. my tastebuds just about shriveled up and dried off when i was in the hometown! i was dreaming of dolmata and fatyre. literally!) and then explored granville island. i found a bunch of places i should apply at, as i don't have a job yet. after the pleasure of granville island, we made our way to stanley park and dipped our hands in the ocean and swung on swings and narrowly avoided getting rabies from a band of--wait for it--RABID racoons. seriously. it was terrifying!

after a short nap (so much sunshine makes small girls like me sleepy) we headed back downtown for the MOVIELAND ARCADE because, in addition to its collection of typical arcade games, has a PEEP SHOW section in the back so we watched old pornos and giggled. we then headed on down to my favourite strip club so far, the cecil. all in all it was a good night.

on saturday we did something very exciting--we took the seabus!! it may not be exciting to anyone else but to me a fifteen minute boat trip across a harbour is big stuff. here is a picture i took that shows the city in all its tall-buildinged glory.

then later on we went to see bodyworlds which was BLOODY AMAZING though absolutely crowded and pushed me toward claustrophobia. it's hard to breathe when so many people are just standing around!! we saw some of the sgbc folks, like xela, spunsugar and fenris23.

on SUNDAY, we lazed around and i baked a bit and then we headed out for sushi and a good old windy wreck beach sunset. the weather was atrocious but we sat and froze nonethless. we watched a huge boat sail off. it was really interesting to me, because we saw it in the harbour the day before. i am so impressed by boats, being a prairie girl and all! this living by the ocean thing is still bizarre to me.


last night we mostly just stayed up doing lame stuff like drinking coffee and beer. his flight was redonkulously early so i think i probably only slept for a couple hours. i was up at FIVE TWENTY, which, as you know, is a time i believe firmly to be a bedtime before it should ever be a wakeup time. hoo boy!! god forbid i get either of the coffee shop jobs i applied for today, both of which start between four and five a-friggin-m.

my visit with uproot was great!! it got me looking into visiting san diego sometime before i die.
