Hmmm
Believe it or not, I can't think of anything to say.... me. Craziness. Let's see, huh... nuthin. Oh, wait, something's coming to me now. I'm thinking of actually getting a job. A real job that pays money. Anybody who knows me, probably knows I do a bit of volunteer stuff, but the time has come to venture out and get working.
Not that I've never worked - don't get me wrong. I've done a little bit of everything from fast food, retail, pharmacy, preschool (curiously, I drank a lot during that period of my life), being a nanny.... the list goes on. I quit my job as a supervisor at a medium-sized retail store 3 1/2 years ago and didn't look back.
But due to some financial, um, stuff, it looks as if I'm going to have to bring in more than I am at the mo. I guess my question is... what do I want to do? I have kind of a wacky schedule, so I'll really only be able to work one night a week, most likely Fridays. Here are a couple of options and the perks - lemme know what you think:
a) The Bar
-working at the bar means I have the potential for tips, nice
-there's always the creepy-customer factor though, and I don't know if I want to deal with that.
b) The Grocery Store
-not very exciting, but I'd get a discount on groceries
c) The Movie Rental Place
-free rentals, nuff said.
d) The Movie Theatre
-free flicks
-mmmmm, popcorn
-disadvantage: I'd be the oldest person there.
There ya have it. I'm a bit limited in what I do because of the schedule I already keep. It's not like I can go work in preschool til midnight on Fridays, you know?
Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
The day before yesterday marked the two year anniversary since I moved away from my hometown. Kind of bittersweet. I'm happy I moved, because of all of the doors the experience has opened - and it's done wonders for my self-confidence, too. But at the same time, I do miss my family. I feel like a broken record here, but I'll say it again: I miss the water and the trees and the moss and the colour green.
Last Weekend
I guess I should update on my adventures from last weekend. I had two parties to go to. And I missed one! Due to a miscommunication, I missed dear Cilantro's going away party
Silly me. I need to check my SGmail more often, apparently. I was disheartened, but continued on to the Gender-Bender party. Though dressed for a regular party, I had my "man-clothes" stashed in the car. I was greeted at the door by a maid with gorgeous legs - 23ian23 (he was a super good sport throughout the whole evening, even when we had him trying to pick up mini eggs with his butt cheeks
). Ms. AsItComesToMe looked very stylin in a pinky-orangy-swirly floor-length dress (with stunning plaid boxer shorts and black socks to boot). There was one girl I actually had to do a double take on - she really went all out for her get up - taping down her chest! Now that's freaking dedication! And me? I didn't even change out of my pretty clothes. I had construction gear to change into, but I so rarely go out socially (unless you count walking my dogs in my sweats & going to the gym). However, I brought chocolate to the party, so I think all was forgiven.
This weekend should be a bit more low-key, though there is a small get-together tomorrow evening. We're going to watch "The Fight" at a friend's place - which I'm assuming will be boxing, maybe? I don't know. Anyhoo, there's that and maybe playing of some cards. Should be nice. I hear that the snow might melt a bit by Sunday, so perchance a nice big walk with the tigers and bears (oh my!).
Wow, I sure wrote a lot for someone who couldn't think of anything to write.
Penises make me giggle.
