Pet Pics with Santa
That's what I did this weekend. I was an elf.

I know that the Star Wars shirt (Empire, of course) wasn't all-too-Christmasy, but it is the only green one I own.
Saturday was completely dead - I think we did something like 10 or 11 packages. But today, wow, today was freaking busy. We got pictures of dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, AND..... I even had the grand opportunity to meet xSynesthesia, and her hedgehog, Roomba. If you head on over to her blog, you might see their pic with Santa (*awesome* pololarioid photography, I must say
). Miss X was sooooooooo cute in person - I'm totally crushing.
But it wasn't all cute girls and puppies....
I brought my foster dog Bear with me, as an event like this could lead to an adoption; he's such a ridiculously friendly dog, and he likes to say hi to *everyone*. Unfortunately/fortunately (can't decide) that's what may have happened. A fellow was interested in adopting him and, after talking with me about Bear's personality, habbits and such, he took him for a few hours to test the waters.
! This fellow works 8 hours a day, as does his significant other, so Mr. Bear would be alone for that time - but if it came down to Bear or any other dog I know, I would say Bear would fair best in such a situation. He is an old dog, and he likes his naps.
Here comes the real sad part for me - my ride came a little early to pick me up and I had to leave the store before the guy came back with the dog. As you may know, my rescue can be disorganized at the very best of times, and I don't even know if they had my telephone number with them - long story short: it's four hours later and I have no idea what is going on! Aaaaahhhh!
My house feels so quiet. If Bear does find his forever home, I will most likely take in another dog-in-need. Due to allergies, I can't take in a litter of kittens, like Cilantro did - that looked like a lot of fun (until the last weeks, that is... lol). But waiting until after the holiday season might be wise, Christmas can be really hard on a pet in a new environment. The rescue has a few dogs there that are in real need of someone with time and patience (of which I have an abundance of, because I have no life) - and I can't wait to see what the future holds! Good luck Bear
