Oh the incessant ticking of the clock. Merely 2 more short days until I walk down that jetway and answer tha call of the ocean, ummm and the paycheck, for the next 6 months.
I feel the tide's grasp upon my ankles, attempting to hold me forever. I am in a situation where I am doing well, but I am not doing great. I make enough money to just pay my bills and eek out an existence between contracts, but at the end of each vacation I return to the ship with barely enough money for the cab ride from the airport.
I really need to strive for change with the approaching contract. I think that keeping this journal may help, as unlike my 'little-black-book" journal, others may read this and that will better encourage me to stick to my strategy.
I have a few set goals already, time to set them in digital stone.....
1) pay off the loan that my ex and I got nearly 5 years ago
2)Stop spending $20 a night, every night in the bar. (and to put that in more perspective, staff get our drinks for 50%)
3)get back into habit of going to the gym every other day
4)network and train to get promoted by the end of the contract.
Well, there it is. Wish me luck
