I came home today to find a sign on the door of my building stating that, because the owners owe $22,600.00, the gas will be shut off on October 21st. No heat, no hot water, no stove. Ha. Luckily, somelameo will be here by then, so at least I won't be cold at night.

That sucks.....we had the power company cut our power because when we moved and called to notify them that we had moved from apartment A to apartment B, they took the hint to shut off our apartment A power, but not to shut on our apartment B power. So in our new place (apt B), after the previous tenant had not payed the bills she was recieving for our 3 months of power, they cut us off. We lit candles and had a sewing party in the basement, and it was really fun. AND, because it was their fault, to apologise for the inconvenience, they aren't charging us for the power we have been using since July.
Sounds like you don't get a fun bonus though....I wonder if you;'ll go all winter without heat, or if you'll just pay your gas directly, or....?
