Spent the last several days in the hospital getting my appendix removed (it took them a while to decide that that was the problem). Blah! Ah well. Now I have my heating pad and my laptop and all is good. Too bad I'm missing hell of work. frown

Good seeing you down at the spot yesterday. What was the book about and should one check it out?

I think that I may have found myself enamored of a concept. I think that I have constructed something in which I may live -- complete with narrative arc and every defining element of story. And it involves a certain transposition of consciousness. I can't believe I would subject you to my weird, weird imagination -- in which nothing actually weird happens, but I find...

Damn. That's heavy.

Should I feel bad about finding something that is obviously intensely personal so entertaining to read?

Crap! I just lost the game!

And now you have, too.

For the rest of your life, you should leave a comment in my journal if you lose the game again. Oh! Now whenever you go on SG, you'll think of it... that is, if you want to play.

(You can google that if you want to have your mind virally infected. It will be...

Joy! I have a friend! I haven't been an active SG member for a while now.. finally got my act together again when I was at a Pretty Girls Make Graves show Friday night and a girl asked me if I was on SG and I had to say, "Well.. uhm.. I was... but now I suck.." smile

I'm coming to terms with the UCSC-ness. At least if I go there for a year I can keep doing Japanese. I'll just have to get a 4.0 and transfer over later tongue Are you a Jr or a Sr now?
papawheelie:
heya. hope you get to make it to prom again this year

Thanks for the kind words, everyone... I think things will likely work out. But then again, I have low standards for general success in life.

I've been sitting here listening to a lot of music... Antipop Consortium... then Antony and the Johnsons... and now At the Drive In. Aren't the intimacies of my music listening career interesting?

Heh. Heh. check out this educational film strip...

Haha, that's too funny. The person I was with wanted to buy a live fish (it dies in the bag as you're buying it) and I was like, "Not when we took my car, buddy!"

Thanks for the luck!

Your pic changed! Do you like this one better?
pav:
Ah, anyone who likes Murakami gets to Yukio Mishima eventually. Or vice versa. A violent gay samurai trapped in the body in of a child. How could you NOT love it?

I love your photographs, hot stuff. I'm sorry you're feeling crappy. We should hang out this week, especially since I have a CAR for the week. Well, ok, so it's a pick-up truck, but the concept's the same. If I were in town, I'd totally give you way more hugs than you're comfortable with and make you feel better. kiss

Thanks! I took that shot to play with aperature settings ^^

Update: It's still a marvel that I can even look at him when I we pass one another. Oh, oh, oh! Why don't I just stare at him until my eyelids drop off.

Devendra Banhart's 'Rejoicing in the Hands' has been in fairly constant play lately. It is sparse and slightly off, and it is sometimes the only thing to which I can listen.

I...

The day commened with a lack of power, the deficiency of which was not restored until 2 p.m. This made the struggle to rise that much more difficult.

The lovely Venice came by today with pie. It was lovely and her hair is looking terrifically gorgeous these days.

The weather's normalized significantly, which is wonderful. It's back to being murky and rainy and smelling like...

There are an awful lot of grey spots on my friends list.

This week has been busy busy busy (times x!) but really quite rewarding. Completed many papers and assignments, made a lot of progress on my photo project and thought up a topic of my Mesopotamian architecture research paper (not as cool as my friend's proposal, based on PKD's The Man in the High...

Never saw Easy Rider. I wonder if it's at all like Five Easy Pieces. Why should it be? No reason. Except for "Easy" in the title. And actors at their youthful peak -- Jack Nicholson, in this case. Honk if you think this is a stupid association.

Gorey Stories . . .And not done badly? Hmmm. I guess my plan to adapt his work to the stage will have to wait until the public at large forgets this good version. Mine will be atrocious.

Here is a production of the vinegar works I Co directed many years ago with Julia Bardley. Vinegar works It was a precursor to our showShockheaded Peter we just opened a few nights ago off Broadway.
