The Yukon! ALRIGHT. I once researched homesteading in that area. Alaska's deal is better. 20 acres/person up to 40 acres of timberland or up to 160 agricultural land, free of charge. One must take permanent residence of the land for 2 full years to title fee simple. The state oil exploration dividend paid to every resident is what seals the deal. Last I checked (1997) only 3 states still do this.

People are stupid. Working in customer service is likely to kill anyones trust in humanity. I constantly have people calling, trying to convince me that they did not and never have, actively searched for and then applied for our product, been approved, received services and paid a regular amount for X amount of years and that they want the account closed without further costs.

My weekend was so bloody boring that food shopping was my hi-light.

I think teaching is the way to go, there are a lot more opportunities but then I may be biased. With a NY State teaching certificate you can also be certified in Ontario. I don't know if you are aware of this or not but I know someone who was certified to teach in NY.

Same as vo-tech here. Except NY state programs are much better. Here it turned into a dumping ground for kids the teachers didn't want to teach.
Having been there the experience is way different than standard classes. Mine were 4 classes "periods" of normal school spent in a shop. They counted for a math and science and all required electives. I took Vo-tech, gym, History, and English through high-school and nothing else.
The times i was at BOCES in NY i drooled at the resources those kids had. I got sooo screwed! The very subjects i had interest in i never got to take (math + science).
The approach was train the kids with no chance in life a profession they 'could' survive doing. Mechanic, bodyshop, carpentry, retail, welding, small engine, and machine shop. Most of my classmates are in jail or on welfare.

Fuck; here its scrape off the chunks and burn everything else. Too much mud getting tracked in, and too many projects going on to deal with trying to keep the place clean. Although I did have a visitor here last weekend (first since labor day) i don't expect another till well into summer its not worth it.

All thats left is the bathroom. I found a way to use a swiffer for everything! I just have to wait 3 hours for the wax to dry on the hardwood floors.
My kitchen is so beat up its hard to tell its clean.
But i agree, the can fuck off or clean the place themselves.

I worked my Opera show call, ... then loaded out a concert, ... just now got home,... about 8 hrs work combined, and two payrolls, total about $200... not bad

What was so confusing was there was visible some type of ditching at the property line running in correlation with magnetic north. Whoever put those in made the mistake. I assumed it was parallel with the property line. I caught it when I surveyed the second point.
To be sure it wasn't the first point i had to resurvey the south and west property lines leading to the stake i first used.
