I have been working so hard today that I have discovered that this is amazing. Seriously.
takesatraintocry:
That is somehow very addictive. I only got to 69, but I think I can do better if I get stoned.
keribelle:
Thanks smile I'm sure things will start to get better, it's just hard to see past the darkness when you are surrounded by it.

It never feels like it's Christmas while I am still at work.

This year I have a whole week off. I predict getting up in the afternoon, drinking during the daytime, watching plenty of DVDs. kicking Egyptian arse on Rome:Total War and many other good things. biggrin

B&M United Reserves 0 - 11 The Romans.

Get in!

My new nickname is Paolo Maldini. That's what I think anyway.

Now I am going to get very drunk as its my sisters birthday and we've just won 11 nil.

Some days are too good. biggrin

Very nearly didn't get to Saturday night as I nearly choose death over suffering on Saturday morning. I may have drunk a little too mcuh on Friday night but I maintain that it was the cup of tea first thing in the morning that made me ill. It had nothing to do with the tequila I drank. Nor did it have anything to do with...

Last night went of with less drama (and less drink) then I expected. I guess that's for the best as no one really needs to collect bad break ups. Bit of a shame though as I was looking forward to the drinks.

Tomorrow Christmas starts properly for me as we are travelling up to my uncle (the only one on my Dads side) for early...

Yay for Christmas! Mine is starting tonight as well, but not because of a fabulous dinner...We are getting our tree! To me it just isn't Christmas until I have the smell of pine in my house and I'm surrounded by lights and cheesy santa figurines. I'd love some more snow to go with it all, but only time will tell on that one.

Have fun this weekend! biggrin

don't feel like running much. you would be a perfect striker for manchester city. their greek and spaniard up front both just stand around for the whole 90. and then of course there is the worthless american claudio reyna disappearing in midfield. fuck's sake.

i can only imagine the stories that must be told once the lagers start droppin down the necks. so it is an uncle or cousin who is the black sheep of the family and what dubious behavior earned the moniker. ah yes, family.

Tonight my sister is having a 'closure' discussion with her ex. I don't know why all the American TV talk crept into their break up. I think it may have started when he saide he wanted to sleep with other women. I didn't think people who weren't on TV said that. Prick. Anyway it's become a bit more amicable since then and he appears to...

I hope it went as well as possible!

I can't fucking stand what you so aptly call 'American TV Talk.' Even worse is corporatese, but they share the common stain of careless and harebrained borrowing from the field of psychology.

So I didn't read anything above about you kicking his arse. I don't have any sisters, but I did think that would be proper protocol in this situation. I believe it was Liam who sang.....

So get on the helter skelter

We have the builders in at home getting a new bathroom fitted and everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. The house is now a disaster zone so I have fled to my sisters flat for a few days where there is heating. It does mean getting attacked by my niece first thing in the morning but it's a small sacrifice for warmth.

The...

As a lover of both your football and American football, I try to stay clear of petty little 'That's not football!' disputes, but here let me start one: Wait. No, I won't pick a fight, so much as ask a question that's always bothered me: Why do they call off soccer games for weather? Of course, typhoons, or lightning or landslides should cancel all sport, but when it comes to rain and snow, I can't see how a game should ever be called off. They'll play American football in any condidtions so long as there isn't imminent danger to the fans, and I personally love to go be miserably cold and wet in a foot of snow for a game. SO: under what circumstances do they cancel soccer, and how do you feel about it?

btw the Fisk book is out of print in paperback here until February. Oh well.

Saw Nina Nastasia last night. She has such a wonderful voice and her songs are possesed of such incredible stillness and beauty it is impossible not to get lost in them.

Jeff Lewis supported who is ace in a completely different and much funnier way.

It was a good night.

It made up for getting stictched up by the Sussex County Football Association earlier in...

Completely unsolicited, an old friend of mine from the UK recommended the Fisk book to me. Funny, eh? I'll definitely pick it up soon. He also suggested John Snow. When I lived over there I never had a TV, so I'm not familiar with him, but my friend tells me he's a great one. What do you think?

Sorry about the refs. It's always the damn refs.

I had tickets for 2 gigs this weekend and went to neither. I am lame.

I did play 2 football matches though which is less lame.

Thanks for the suggestion - is that the Fisk who writes for the Independent? I usually read one fiction and one non-fiction book at a time, so I'll definitely check it out next time I'm at the shop. Which gigs did you miss?
mad_fer_it:
I have to agree with posh-boy on the " lame " word choice. Why on earth wouldya want to sound American. There's no future in it.

Photo of the day. Ben being one scary motherfucker. Got to rent this flick again.

Today is attempting to set a new record for the most boring day at work ever. My work so far today has taken up approximately 10 minutes of the 90 minutes that I have been here. No signs of it getting any busier either.

Stuff I would be listening to if I was at home:-
The Long Blondes
Brakes
The Sadies (the new live album...

Saturday might hvae to go into my list of all time top days.

Spent a pretty lazy morning just dossing about the house. Finally moved my books back into my room. Now I just need to find storage for my CDs and records.Theres no point doing it until I have proper storage otherwise I'll just end up tripping over them all.

Went down the park...

Nothing like a well spent weekend, eh? I had friends in from out of town, and the sum total of my hosting was rolling joints and baking cookies. Nothing else but listening to good music and playing cards. The good life.
