Very nearly didn't get to Saturday night as I nearly choose death over suffering on Saturday morning. I may have drunk a little too mcuh on Friday night but I maintain that it was the cup of tea first thing in the morning that made me ill. It had nothing to do with the tequila I drank. Nor did it have anything to do with the 8 gallons of vodka I consumed. It was definately th tea the morning after. Maybe.
Why did I drink tequila? I hate that stuff. Rude to turn it down when someone buys it for you though.
So anyway Friday night was immense fun, drank a lot, danced a lot, ruined one pair of jeans by trying to slide along the club floor on my knees, got made to feel really old by a friend telling me she was 10 when Pulp released Disco 2000 and was generally pretty damn good at being Mr. Party. Plus Brakes were awesome, I really shouldn't rave about my friends bands but they are bloody excellant.
Just about survived Saturday morning and revived myself with the help off approx 8 gallons of St Clements in the afternoon. St Clements (orange juice and bitter lemon) is arguably the greatest hangover cure of them all and is of special use in rediscovering taste buds you thought you had lost the night before. Use of this powerful potion allowed me to recover in time for dinner and enabled me to eat vast quantities of roast beef.
Fortunately the weather here has been atrocious so football was cancelled which enabled me to partake of that other great healing substance - the Sunday lie-in. This was followed by the Sunday fry up and my body was finally returned to equilibrium.
(Drink and coping with the after affects without being a quitter is available from all good bookshops now
