Day 4 of quitting smoking. It is getting better, overall. The cravings are fewer and farther between, but seems like they are more intense.

And there is a good chance that I may give the baby to roaming Gypsies because he has been insanely bad. And he doesn't just seem bad because I'm having nic fits, he is being monstrously crazy destructive bad.

So I've...

Yeah, the shipping kills ya !
I bet the stuff isn't worth a fraction what it cost to ship here. But some of it has priceless sentimental value and I'm just like that.

The date went ok. blush
Kinda sucked because it rained here and spoiled the plans, but we hung out for a little while and are going to go out this weekend.

How's everyone at your end ?
cockzombie:
I'm sorry, the 'I love churros' comment you made in the CE thread made me LOL.

So thanks for that

Well, I forced myself up and out of the house today for a mommy and me type meetup group. It was nice. Cletus was too small to partake of the activities, but it was nice to get out and meet some other moms in the area. I have a full weekend planned, since hubby is away for military duty for the weekend. I'm going to...

So, I know I suck and have been totally remiss and neglectful of my SG friends, and I will hopefully find a few minutes tonight after DaddyPants gets home to give a good update and hopefully play catchup and find out what has been going on in my absence! I miss you all!
I was hoping to write more, but there is a small monster...

SERIOUSLY!!! 2 months? Two whole months? I can say I've missed you (and some pics!) but this whole place has almost fallen apart!

I am glad to hear you're doing well, and hope to see Cletus soon!
Merry Christmas if I don't see you soon enough!
melicious:
Sounds like mommyhood is keeping you quite busy. Hope all is going well!

Today is my grandmother's birthday. I really wanted to sit down and write something positive and uplifting to remember her by, but all I can really think about is how much I miss her. Even though it has been 10 years since she died, sometimes it seems like it was only a few days ago.

She was a wonderful woman, what every grandmother should be....

i was reflecting on my family last week, and i realized my grandmother is the only family member who has never had anything bad or critical to say about me (or others). she was always positive, always patient, and a consant nurturer to everyone. to me that's real strength because most people don't have those qualities.

i echo wildswan: To the memory of Nanny.

My granddad had a crop farm in Vanderbilt, TX, South of Edna, and my brother and I used to drive through Port Lavaca, Old Indianola, and Port OConner as kids. We were only 13 years old and driving my granddad's pickup. Of course this was during the mid 50s when there was little traffic. But the memories of his farm will never go away. He died in 1985 at the age of 87. I never knew my real grandma, she died before I was born, but my mom had so many wonderful stories of what a dear woman she always was. Grandparents can mean so much for people, that's why I spend so much time with my grandkids today. And I share stories of my childhood, so they know what type of real person I was and that I too was a child at one time.
Your mud pictures are great. It seems you had too much fun. smile

Went out to Gatorfest in Anahuac last night, had a pretty decent time. Got to see 2 singers I really like, Cory Morrow and Roger Creager. There was also plenty of delicious fried gator to go around, cold beer, and people to make fun of.

The porta-potties were, to say the least, fucking horrible. On my last trip, I spent 30 minutes in line, only...

I will never forget sitting in front of my television screen, completely unable to understand what was happening. For days, I watched endlessly. I cried until my body was sore, and I didn't even know anybody there. I knew that America would never be the same again.

I want to honor those people that I never knew. I want to kiss a fireman just for...

Hey there,

I just posted this in Jynee's blog, but I thought it appropriate to post here as well. This was my experience today.

"I have to say, it was pretty much 'business as usual' today for most of the people I saw. Yes, it was a more somber day and people did pay their respect, but also, people showed that they were able to move forward. We will never forget, but we will not live in fear or anguish. We will live our lives. "
judypatricia:
I'll never forget the sound of my mother's voice on the other end of the phone when she was finally able to get through to me, calling me from Florida, just to make sure I wasn't dead. Or the way the lights were turned off in both the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings at night just so this way no planes would target them too. Or the smell from the buildings' collapse that hung in the air for well over a month, making trying to attend classes and focus on them impossible. Or actually realizing the enormity of that pile of rubble when you had to pass by them to go about your business...

It feels a lot longer than five years ago, though.

I'm not quite sure why I find this so hilarious, but I do.

well, see the glass half-full (er...not the best metaphor right now i guess!): at least your will power was good enough to let you choose the softer alcohol, rather than straight buron.

Happy birthday!

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

It is possible to have fun without drinking - I do it quite frequently. From what I've seen from people quitting booze, you're wise to stay away from bars for now. "People, places & things," they say.

Enjoying quality time with family is a wonderful idea.

Hey, your new galsses are sexy!!! I love em.

Well, my BD was just ok this year. Ate like a pig all day long, then my tummy was hurting late evening. Also drank too much. Still waiting for my new camera to show up in the mail.
