Ok, I've had time to think + breathe since my first journal entry this morning.

Also talked about last night to our guitarist. Which helped.

First off I'll begin by saying this - Never in my time of going to gigs and playing them have I seen a crowd as bad as last night's. It's not as if there was no-one there and it's not...

nobody gets my band either.. it's so very annoying, i mean.. shit, we're not even trying for any more than a humorous reaction and even our friends are too dense to get it. people are far too into their own little styles to appreciate anything, and as i like saying, if they want to judge us, then where is their band so we can judge them? oh yes.. it doesn't exist. so fuck them all biggrin

oOo, Medieval England, nice choice, I could certainly go for that.

Bit of jousting, some chivalry, a massive banquet and then to my chambers wink hehe

If you hadn't noticed I've not been around much this week... am busy busy busy. I was recording for 5 hours straight (no breaks whatsoever) on Sunday. Hell of a day.

Monday I was working all day.

Yesterday we had rehearsal late at night.

Tomorrow we have a really important gig.

I'm very tired.

Tonight I baked cookies... who wants one? They're oatmeal + chocolate...

I've eaten tooooo many pancakes. Today is Pancake Day. I've been told that American's don't know what Pancake Day is... so, I shall elaborate.

Every year there is Shrove Tuesday. This is the day before Ash Wednesday. I won't go in-depth into the religious significance of this because I'm an atheist. But, basically Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent....

I've been out of the loop for a few dayssurreal

I have my own tradition called Pop-Tart day . I don't know if they have Pop-Tarts in England so I'll give you the scoop . They're cheap little mass produced breakfast pastries that you put in the toaster . I have a day where I eat only Pop-Tarts . The significance of this is to comemmerate the fact that I can't afford to buy REAL food!!!! frown

I hope your pancake binge hasn't caused you any permanent damage . biggrin

Thanks for all the appologies... although, ironically it wasn't any of you who appologised who disappointed me.

I will write more tomorrow, or the day after but for now I feel emotionally exhausted. I just wanted to show my appreciation for a few of you...

I'm so totally disapointed at some of the responses I got to my last entry that I'm changing it so I don't have to look at them any more.

Added: I wasn't disapointed with all the responses. Please understand there were just a couple I couldn't stand to look at any more.

I'm sorry, I know your journal isn't the place to rant, but I have to disagree with all the people that say America does not have a culture. So many things that are in our world could not exist without the creation of America. Good or bad, you cannot deny the influence of what America is. To say that America is lost in a mix of culture is to deny the very culture that exists because of the many differences.

Just because you appreciate European culture doesn't mean you have to completely dismiss America as vapid and backwards.

Thanks again, Ms. Cherry.

I just got back from the urban insanity of New York and didn't read or comment on the previous entry ... and usually I don't, if it has to do with some political or cultural opinion ... but in your case, because you are you, and because I care about what you said, I am.

A horror at the emptiness of what passes for culture in most "developed" countries, I think, is pretty much avoidable for most thinking people, who end up on the fringes not because they are superior (I'm not sure "thinking/feeling" equates with "superior" at all) but because an aliveness such as you have will bring with it a cost, such as you are experiencing in what you think and feel. And write beautifully about. I feel ready for another voice clip now.
