i just posted a very long entry that highlighted some of the fun i've had here in new york while i've been vacationing. and it promptly disappeared. so all i can do is shake my fist. can you see me doing that?
piningshaft:
that happened to me today when i tried to post a message. i didn't shake my fist though. maybe i should have done that. to release my frustration and stuff.

this mornin' i saddled the cattle, milked the horses, greeted the clock and punched my boss.
all because you held me last nite.
c'mon children!

a little blues courtesy of dr. john for all my faithful readers out there. i can't fucking believe i forgot to mention that yesterday was oscar pete's 77th birthday yesterday. HAPPY *belated* BIRTHDAY OSCAR PETERSON!
this morning was punctuated by...

just put em in your mouth and suck em, suck em, suck em, suck em!

big ups to chef and his chocolate salty balls. fuck me, isaac hayes is a baaaad mama jama. i was pretty surprised when he asked the audience if anyone watches south park. and even more surprised when the whole bowl erupted and isaac kicked off a salty chocolate balls number....

i wish I lived near you. Ilove to dance...jitterbug, you name it. one time i taught mentholgrrl how to wlatz and foxtrot and two step at this redneck bar we go to. We are the only ones under 50 there (besides the teens selling meth) and eveyrone was staring at us, the only ones on the dance floor twirling round and round. it was so beautiful, so perfect. It feels like water dancing with a partner, I love it.

Ironic that you had that flirt problem, check out mentholgirl's past few days of journal and mine.
*sigh*

and I am going tripping...but to the mountains...fishing, dogs, a lovley little vineyard nearby...time to read books, sigh contentedly (for once!)
lovely lovely silence....

its noon on monday and i think i can say that i've recovered from the weekend. what i thought would be kind of chilled out and low-key turned out to be an out and out party fest. can't complain as the weekend was all that a good weekend should be, except for perhaps a happy ending for our protagonist. not that it is something novel...

say hey everybody! here's hoping that today finds you and yours spreading good vibes. although i'm a bit sleepy i'm still basking in the glow of tony bennett after last night's concert at the bowl. that's about the only afterglow i get these days. of course, there's still a bit of a haze following me around. i should really avoid drinking the ENTIRE bottle of...

Duke Ellington rocks, but are you familiar with Jelly Roll Morton? I am a huge piano fan. I have played classical since I was in the fourth grade...my piano teacher was born in 1902 so all her musical influences were great. Her idea of rock and roll was Gershwin or ragtime. She was a beautiful wonderful creature, and the only person I ever cried for when she died. She gave me an appreciation for and love of music that is incomparable and I love her every day fo it. She also was an extreme diciplinarian and scared the shit out of me!

another monday finds be back at the office, parked in front of this terminal flattening my ass and waxing poetic about the weekend past. topping this week's charts is news that i made the print version of the august 2002 adult video news. i think seeing my name in print is pretty neat, even if the following pages feature such adult titles as caution: your...

always put your best foot forward, so here's the good news first. jan made it out last night and we went to the hollywood bowl together to catch celia cruz, the queen of latin jazz. celia was nothing short of amazing, especially for a woman pushing 80. she was strong and passionate from beginning to the end of her set. too bad that i can't...

i had promised myself not to get pissed over live performances that i invariably miss. and yet here i find myself bitching and moaning over the fact that norah jones is singing at the ford ampitheater and that i'm not going. i should take solace in the fact that i will be seeing celia cruz and some serious hip-shaking latin jazz tonight at the bowl...

miss jane just stopped by the cube to tell me that she enjoyed the argentinian red that i gave her last week. so if there's lovers of cheap wine that happen to peruse my musings, indulge in a bottle or two of the merlot/malbec blend from the falling star wineries.
well, i'm creating a journal entry so it must mean i'm at the office after...

the past few evenings have been rather strange. i haven't been feeling especially tired lately but i seem to be knocking out really early, like by 9:30 pm the past three nights. normally my eyes don't even close until after midnight. i suppose i could probably use the sleep as this weekend will probably a bit taxing on my constitution. unfortunately, my passing out early...

that picture totally rules!

I'd be crashing at 9:30 too if I had all that goin' on. Math makes me sleepy.

the old should I buy 4 CD's for the price of a show thing gets to me as well. Especially Jazz shows. I hate how jazz shows have become so elitist, expense wise. Up here we shows by big-name jazzers are like $35 dollars and you can only stay for one of the one hour sets, they roll over the house for the next show. You have Amoeba down there too? That is so brutal. I cannot leave there without like 8 CD's which I can ill afford. Their used section at the S.F. store kicks ass though.

have a good one.
