"Hallelujah" really is amazing. I wish he hadn't chosen to go swimming in the Mississippi that night...
alexsandria:

What's the story with going back to school? As in, what prompted the return, and what are you wanting to study?

The only college I ever attended was a small but very well know art conservatory in Miami (New World School of the Arts) for theatre. I only stuck around for a couple of months because at the time I was living in my car and my mind was bent on traveling and not rehearsing.
So now, after a three year break, I'm going to school for anthropology, simple because I feel like I'm ready for it at this point in my life. Although I have decided to not do theatre as a major anymore, I am excited about auditioning for a play and being able to act again.

Thanks for the "getting things done" tips!

Crap! The NSA has patented the Multiverse and Tape Dispensers!

That's right folks.
They don't just monitor your phone calls to uncle Ibrahim.
They invent new and more devious tape dispensers.
Be afraid.

OMG not tape!!!

This line took me off guard:

A fund is a good tool for someone with only $50,000 in the market. But the average assets of this magazine's subscribers are upwards of $1.6 million. You folks should buy stocks directly.

Yeah, you silly millionaires! Get out of mutual funds!

The average reader of Forbes has 1.6M$ in assets? Just how many Forbes readers are there? A...

Maybe Sam Walton bought gift subscriptions for the whole family and Bill & Melinda Gates. Surely that would skew the average.

Flying to Indianapolis tomorrow for a job interview.
Have a chunk of hours in the afternoon to myself.
Anyone know what's worth doing there?

Indianapolis - First reactions

This is a staunchly midwestern town, booming with recent business. Franchises are rapidly buying up plots and the sprawl is starting to look the same as any other

I'm underdressed. Or overindividualized. (Yes, Maria, you were...

What kind of job were you interviewing for? When will you find out if you got it?
I would just tuck my hair under a scarf or something except for the fact that it's just way too big. I've had my dreads for a year and a half. They are past my shoulders now so If I put them up in a bun, they make me about 6" taller. Of course my arms don't grow to meet my new height so I end up not being able to spin above my head.
alexsandria:
I had something like that in mind. It's a good idea and it might even work. Thanks kiss

Seen those new slippers called "Gators"? My aunt bought me a pair out of the blue some months back. My first reaction was, "These are hideous. They must be fashionable for some reason." Turns out that was right - they're a fad because they're "so comfortable". Only they are pretty comfortable. It's a trap, really. You find yourself slipping them on just thinking you'll wear...

There's no conversion! You just buy a diesel car and pump it in!

Yeah, your friend must be using straight veggie oil (SVO) instead of biodiesel.

Back in St.Lou since the new year. Getting situated in the new apartment, getting back up to speed with my coding, getting back into climbing.

In other words, the usual.

Welcome back! The collection of tangent circles was an interesting design choice, and the series of traps looks clever and tough for low levels. Nice job.

I am living with a cat.
After living with this cat for 6 months, and with its patron, I have come to the conclusion (following discussion with said patron) that all of the cat's utterances can be translated to one of three words, five tops. The words the cat says are:

1. "ME!"
2. "FOOD!"
3. "NO!"

and possiibly also

4. "BITCH!"
5. "NOW!"

Symptoms of a successful party:

  • Standing room only

  • Twister

  • DDR

  • Juggling (Contact, Classical, and Poi)

  • Consumed: 6 bottles of wine, 4 bottles of liquor, couuntless bottles of beer, baked brie, apple pie, guacamole, hummus tray, pita, mini-quiches... and a lot of other food, vanished.

  • Rave invites appearing.

Nice. I'll just be sad I don't have the money to travel to a fabled Baudot party. Finally saw Serenity, loved it. Revers now even more the main characters of my nightmares. Finished my degree... Life is pretty damn sweet. Hope you're well!

Sister's movie continues to shine. It's done something I've yet to see another picture do: capture a 100% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.com. During the New York premier, they had people sitting in the aisles to catch it, having bought tickets to other movies to sneak into hers.

My own creative attempts are being well received, although a few genre purists have had criticisms....

Trailers for sister's movie are up on iFilm.
Check them out.

From her statement on the movie:

I grew up around music. At age 37, my dad stopped selling boat tarps for his father in Alabama, and started writing country songs. He loved Kris Kristofferson and Hank Williams and Bob Dylan and Odetta, and had a whole room full of vinyl. On Sundays, he recorded...

Back in St.Louis.
I truly believe that the body can put off being sick, for a time, at least. I had a sniffle for the last two days I was in San Fran, but nothing nore. I arrived back in St.Louis to a girl offering to take care of me, and relaxed, and within hours the cold closed in. Can't breathe, dizzy, spacy, restless.

But,...

I love bringing soup to sick friends. I used to do that and read from "Grimm's Fairy Tales" when my friend Stacy was sick. smile She'd lay there and cough and sniffle while I read fairy tales.

You're a gem. Most boys are grouches when they're sick, so I leave them alone. I've never met one who liked to have someone care for him.
