Road to The Nationals, part 2, I think, maybe three. And some other stuff.
After over a week of slaving away, betting sidetracked, and catching eye-plague [which buggered my depth perception at deeply inconvenient times] I've finally managed to finish the Carnosaur lord//Hive Tyrant for my Exodites. This is the second of the monstrous creatures finished, but this one has take far far longer than the wraithlord did. anyway, pics:
Close up on the rider.

The pictures arn't amazing, unfortunately I can't get decent lighting sorted at present. But yeah, think i might take a few days off from heavy duty painting after this, try get a few more 'stealers finished, and the termagants base coated.
Other forms of complaining will now follow. I have an effing eye infection, which is deeply irritating. I get annoyed enough with my eyes being short sighted.
And finally a few quick thoughts on Avatar; I finally got round to seeing it, in 3D no less, which was fairly impressive, especially in the earlier scenes when the protagonist is being chased around a forest by big bity aliens. One of my friends recently told me that it's apparantly the highest grossing film ever, which I can kind of understand, it's visually spectacular, the acting's solid, the plot is engaging, overall, it's very good. I can't help but think that's it was all a bit obvious though, maybe this is why so many people like it, but I was expecting every twist and plot development at least half hour before it happened, and I'm terrible at spotting twists, Hustle and Leverage surprise me on a regular basis. Fuck, honestly, I can't really think of much to say about it, it's good, visually amazing, and entertaining, I think that maybe it just lacked some of the soul of a great movie, it didn't touch me at all, and perhaps it's just me desperately trying to be indie and lashing out at something so incredibly well recieved by the mainstream, but it seemed a bit too by the numbers, and made-by-commitee.
You should still go watch it though, seriously.
-Out.

The avatar gunships are going to make excellent vendettas and valkyries. though [they're bound to have toys] maybe it's time for another guard army.
