Well, wednesday rolls around, the day before a wedding I don't want to go to, the day after I go through with my decision to get back on antidepressants, yeah, not something I'm hugely comfortable with, but I'm fucking sick of feeling utterly out of control etc. Just 10mg Citalopram at the moment, which will do nothing, but it feels like I made decision and actually had some effect on my life, which is what counts, until they up the dose.

So on to Owen's epic list of tiny film reviews, part two. Well, the part I forgot, basically.
-Dorian Grey: Ok, so in my head, Dorian Grey should be played by Stuart Townsend, he was far and away the best thing in LXG, but that's another topic. The film felt a little thin, I enjoyed it, and it was suitably dark in places, but it didn't engage me in the way that something like this needs to. Worth a watch, maybe even worth paying money for.

-Rocknrolla: He stabbed the bouncer with an effing pencil. Fucking cool. So really this is dead average Guy Richie, it's not Snatch, but if you like mockney gangster flicks, you'll enjoy this. Uhh, this feels short even by my standards. Uhh, shit, imagine there's another sentence here.

-Spiderwick Chronicles: I'm told the book is very good, by someone I trust on these matters. So the film's exactly as you'd expect, you can tell there was a good story in the beginning, sort of washed into being watchably average by a committee of people who use terms like 'target demographic' in a very serious manner. It's a pity, because without that maybe it could have been as a good as...

-Stardust: Effing awesome, this is a film that you have to like, if you don't you probably have no soul, and I bet you're the one that didn't shed a tear over Up as well. Seriously though, if there are flaws, I can't see them, I love this film, I've watched it half a dozen times at least, and it always makes me smile.

-Silent Hill: A bit awful really, I mean if you get past the fact that it's pretty cool, maybe, I don't know, I don't really like horror movies, but I enjoy this. It passed a good evening on my laptop playing cards with a friend.

-Gamer: Kind of a dictionary definition of how to make an average action move, except instead of Steven Seagal it has Gerrard Butler, which makes it so much better, oh and there's an effing awesome scene with Dexter [I don't know the actor's name, alright?] in the end, there's dancing, it's wonderful. If you see it in a bargain bin, and want something mindless to kill a while, give it a go, at least worth a download if you like anything very vaguely cyberpunk or dystopian [very vaguely].

-Repo, The Genetic Opera: Imagine if Blade Runner and that musical episode of Buffy had a kid, but halfway through, Fox cuts Joss Whedon's 'thinking of awesome shit' budget, and no one overyly talented has much of a hand it it's production. This has managed to earn the dubious honour of becoming my third favourite musical, after Dr Horrible, and that Buffy episode I just mentioned. I don't really like musicals, so this gets in solely on the visual effects [Ok, it's wonderful if you like gothic sci fi prettyness], Anthony Stewart Head, and the fact that Paris Hilton's face falls off, any film where bad things happen to her has a special place in my heart. [This is also the only reason to ever, ever watch the remake of House of Wax] [Was that House of Wax? I watched a lot of shitty horror flicks around that time.]

-9: Uhh, I feel like I'm doing something really wrong if I don't rave about this. It was alright, ok, it was good, but it just felt lacking, like it could have been something wonderful, but just didn't quite make it. You should still watch it.

-(500) Days of Summer: Oh this made me cry, maybe because I was in a deeply shitty mood that day, who knows? So anything with Zooey Deschanel is going to get a thumbs up from me, but this is a genuine one, not just because I hope she'll one day decide that she wants to have sex with a nobody from south wales [I can dream, alright?] I could say a lot about this movie, but really, just watch it, honestly, if there's only one on this list you watch, make it this.

-You might notice that I don't seem to review many films I don't like, this is because of my cunning application of the ancient art of 'not watching films I'm not going to like' every now and then something slips through the net, but after Van Helsing, I've been very wary about what I actually subject myself to, especially if it's costing me money.

-Also, I said I was going to see Alice in Wonderland. The girl I was going with cancelled, gutted, seriously, I might've sounded a little sarky about this, but I'm really itching to see that film. I will be disappointed if it isn't awesome.
