I resonate with your post so much! I can understand that feeling of bad luck lingering overhead, I promise you're not alone. I want to congratulate you on your SG anniversary. I feel as though I don't have a chance in hell of getting a set bought. There seems to be expectations that I just don't seem to meet. Stellar ink project š but really sad about your breakup. I lived with someone for 11 years, unmarried except last one, as soon as we did the knot she ran off with the preacher seven months to the day afterwards. Her lawyer had bigger balls than mine apparently. She got everything including the house and car. I got what Maryland law requires: one chair and one table. Best way to look at it: "Am I above ground and breathing". Say the old farts who have distant memories if being 38. Yes, our society isn't kind to women as they mature so it is you who has to exhibit excellence. I'm 68 with the best advice I can offer: Enjoy the Ride.
