I struggle to pick favorites, but after realizing your question didn’t include the word “movie” I thought more about shows and books and my tentative answer is Feed by Mira Grant. It’s a zombie book, but the zombies were created through the mixing of two engineered, beneficial viruses that have the unforeseen consequence of creating zombies. I love the series as a whole, but I think the first book, Feed, is the best.
