9/1 twittage :
this is America: I have every right to sit outside at a bar patio telling offensive jokes in english with my geek, black, native, officer, and biker lovelies and gentlefolk friends, smiling at the tattooed mini-skirted waitress who brings us beer, wine, burgers, boneless wings, and crispy fries, wearing a T-shirt of yeshua being cornholed by the statue of liberty while inhaling the smoke from my friends' cigars and 'rettes and wonderin' how I'd spend a million dollars if I ever won a lottery and taking bets if that's the waitress' natural hair colour
Oi! She's been a hot and humid week... each day hotter and more humid than the prior - this morning is already in the upper 70s before sunrise! with a heat advisory!
last night when I attempted a late night walk and it was so hot and humid that I didn't make it far
BUT... I still prefer the heat over the cold ANY day, don't get me wrong! I just can't handle extreme heat like I used to (hells, I used to enjoy the 7 hells out of it!)
and it's a 3day weekend with my spawnlings - haven't had one of these in awhile :)
should be fun/crazy, though keeping them inside due to the heat will probably bug 'em to no end... and keeping them off the deck during the expected storms
( they love storms, just like their mothre does *grins* )
work is changing things up a bit, due to all the changes that've happened recently, and I had my first work performance review!
frighteningly exciting - and it went extremely well... which is kinda frightening, too
( in the past whenever I was given good reviews/comments/etc. I was fired in a few months, which I know doesn't apply to where I am now - but there's still that mental gauge/bulb that goes off in warning due to the bad experiences )
the expected suggestions on things to work on/improve/etc. weren't even work-related but more goal/future-oriented and health-implied
though I did mention - and will mention when I had in the signed review - things I feel I need to work on work-wise
one of the things I mentioned, which didn't necessarily surprise the GM but seemed to have given him a better idea of how my mind works, is how I don't judge myself but rather gauge myself on how others' see me via what they say... taken with a grain of salt and sense of humour, of course
I don't let criticisms go to heart, but if I can use them, I will... most criticisms I receive are joking ones anyway ( from people I know, anyways - strangers comments/insults I ignore for the most part )
nor do I let compliments go to my head ( these I often take with a grain of salt moreso than criticisms, as I merely do my best and am fairly certain others could do better than I if they tried )
she was a busy week again, though it's starting to slow down a bit - nearly 50hrs instead of nearly 60hrs
I'm either catching up or finally getting the chance to catch up... first week(s) of month is always extremely busy for me and last days of month, too :)
and lastly - just because I absolutely love these guys - and this song! ::
