The LongAss Heatless Weekend Post : The 39 Week 20 Round Up/Update [T39W20RU/U]
well... the first 48hrs of this all-too long weekend have felt longer than it usually does.
and there's STILL 63hrs+ left to go - Oi!
while I hate to be buzzkill or whathaveyou, 4 days off in a row when it's just me and my apartment is TOO demn long.
I'm surprised I haven't gone homicidal (yet).
today has been the worst - my voice is still crackly and harsh AND I awoke at 6a to no heat *sighs*
the caretaker came in to check on it - in only her bathrobe, I might add! - and said "wow, it IS cold in here!" and contacted maintenance
( I do believe I am liking her even moreso than the ecuadorians when they were caretakers
)
maintenance was finally able to get here at 2p or so - and it took him a half-hour to drain all the air out of the lines!
( usually it only takes a couple minutes )
so it's no demn wonder I had no heat! (wow)
I do admit it was a little bit humerous because he has/had bad hearing and my voice being so crackly and harsh our conversations amounted to "what...?"
*smirks*
and, no, it's not what I'd call "warm" by any means in the apartment (yet)... but it's gotten up to the upper 50s in here, so that's a start.
I'm hopin' it gets into the 70s by nightfall... I don't care what people in this north country say, there aren't enough blankets to keep a person warm when it's cold!
( and, no, I don't believe it'd be polite of me to call the caretaker and ask if she had any way to help me warm up )
it was mentioned earlier this week that they noticed I was pushing myself when I wasn't up to my full self yet...
of course I told them it's what I do and what I've always done
in a nutshell :
I always push - and always have tried to push - myself to do more and be capable of more...
yes, it means I've pushed myself farther than I should have at times
yes, it means I've sometimes "paid the price" for said push, usually physically
but if I just settled for merely "what I'm capable of" I would have nothing to be proud of
there'd be no reason for me to feel worthy of the little things that I've worked for
so, yes, I always push - and likely I always will push - myself, hopefully to advantage
ANYways... hoping the rest of this longass weekend goes by faster, warmer, and smoother than it has
enjoy (or continue to enjoy, as the case may be) your weekend, my fine feathered friends!
