I've Never Needed A Segueway To Segue...
I'm the first to admit my tastes have a tendency to segue and vary, sometimes as swiftly as the moon changes faces...
but the nice thing about that eclecticity is that I'm always "tasting" (so to speak) new things and seldom get too bored with music or movies or art, etc. etc.
the few who've seen my musiqa and cinematiq collections would notice that, yes, certain styles/genres are obvious, but there is altogether a mixture of variance.
but seldom seen/known is that it also tends to affect my... desires. while there are, certainly, things I desire to DO, it's the what/whom I desire to do them TO that varies.
thankfully I am a very controlled individual, else my severe lack of would probably have driven me mad by now (or madder than I naturally am)!
I sometimes ponder if it's this control, coupled with my varying likes and enhanced with my desires of friendship over physicality that has led me to have the many friends that I do.
this aspect is, I admit, sometimes frightening... knowing full well just how many friends that I have, unfortunately, lost throughout the years, it's amazing how many friends that ARE still out there!
most of my friends I haven't seen in a great many, many years and I can count on one hand how many I see on an (ir)regular basis ... meaning once every couple years or so.
while this may be saddening to some (or most), I know it's just the way it is. and with a high percentage of my friends despite the time and distance we are still, unquestionably, friends.
in the past few years I've reconnected (in person a couple times and online, mostly) with friends I hadn't seen in decades...
and it's so wonderful how everything just falls right into place as if there had been very little time/distance - in some cases conversations have continued as if they hadn't stopped!
I have absolutely no regrets in where my life has led, but I do so wish I'd see my friends more often...
but, of course, everything from distance to monetary factors keep it from occurring - and with having friends nationwide (and some in other countries!), it happens...
with the hopes, of course, that someday - someday! - I will be able to reconnect in person with most, if not all, of my wonderful friends!
*smirks* intriguing that I began the post talking about segueing tastes and ended up seguing into friends I miss
...but that's how my mind works, lovelies and gentlefolks!
I have a weekend of nada, zip, zero plans to enjoy *grins* ... though I am still playing with Savini to get to know it's capabilities better.
( for those who may not've read, since I can't remember if I posted/mentioned everywhere, Savini is the newest member of the household - the laptop equivalent of my PC, Romero! )
