The Rumourmill Continues ( Via Pissed/Pissy Relatives )
As already mentioned, last weekend was a blast!
[ No, I have't gone through the photos (yet) - sorry! ]
and considering how well the car rental went, it's definately something to keep in consideration for any trip(s) for next year!
On a humerously saddening note, it seems I pissed off one relative by not visiting another relative.
Now, mind you, I had not only given multiple notices/warnings in multiple locales of where I was going and when, but I had also tried to call said relative a couple days prior to leaving...
this is the very same relative that, despite calling once or twice a month, I have only gotten ahold of a total of TWICE this year! (my fathre, btw, for those wondering)
I had even told this relative the whens/wheres prior as well, to which said relative had implied (at first) I should bring my daughters ((sorry, but I wasn't about to leave my daughters - who would probably go crazy in a hotel room with nothing else to do in the first place - in a hotel room alone while I did things, including the concert!
Yehhhh - no. Don't think so. Even if they could've handled the road-trip, a 4yr and nigh-6yr old forced to do... nothing. For a couple of days? Riiiight.))
ANYways, the pissed relative even mentioned I could've "met them halfway"...
while this initially may sound kosher - a couple oddities/ponderances...
1) without being able to get ahold of said relative, am I just going to wait at a random place and assume they'll show up despite zero contact or planning?! (see aforementioned attempts at calling)
2) I WAS over halfway where I was staying!! (3 1/2hr trip to get there) - was I to backtrack to a "halfway" locale?
As for just up and visiting, said relative was 2 1/2hrs from where I was staying (5hrs round trip) ... was I to drive there and hope said relative was home, despite zero contact or planning?!
This is knowing that said relative has a cabin elsewhere (to which I've never been and am not about to guess where it may be) and has taken several trips (with the pissed relative) to Nevada (and possibly elswhere?) throughout the year as well.
What ended up pissing me off is that months ago : I told the now-pissed relative they need to stem a rumourmill that had been happening in their area stating that I'd purposefully been avoiding my fathre, purposefully not letting him/them see my daughters, AND that I wasn't there for him/them as the now-pissed relative "always has been and {I} need to/should be" - making me out to be a horrible/bad/asshole of a person.
The now-pissed relative, at that time, said she had nothing to do with said rumours and wasn't aware of them - I still told her it needed to be stemmed/stopped, since it was HER friends in HER area (which I do not know and have no contact with) that were stating said rumours. I had as well reminded both relatives involved how I had specifically stated in the past that if my help was needed to let me know in ample time to be able to save $$ to do so and to get the time off to do so - I can't do things like that spur of the moment!
[ it doesn't help that other relatives in the surrounding area - and further - had heard about the rumourmill as well and I had to personally put a stop to those rumours and quell it at that point... which I was successful at - but, again, I do not know the friends of the pissed relative who are continuing the rumours nor am I in the area to confront them! ]
...so what pissed me off? The pissed relative stated near-EXACT what the rumourmill had been stating! Which either makes the pissed relative a liar in stating she wasn't aware of the rumours or - worse yet - that she's the one spreading/starting them! Neither of which is good, to say the least!!
At this point the pissed relative is, most assuredly, on my shiitelist.
At the very least, an apology is necessary (in addition to her still needing to quell her friends rumour-spreading)... moreso would be appreciated, but I daresay unlikely, knowing said relative's actions/proclivities in the past. But I'm not backing down on this, not in the least - nor will I give in by anyone's request.
I'm quite certain this post alone is going to further piss off said pissed relative - and, no, I will not apologize for this posting, either.
These are the facts/truth - and I apologize if I find it petty that it's expected of me to have a celphone I can't afford and to make trips I can't afford as well and to be able to take time off on a whim/whimsy...
hells, I can't even take two days off unpaid unless I don't want to buy food that week - three days off and I don't make enough to pay the child support that's taken from my check weekly!! (not that that info is something everyone needs to know, but I might as well put it out there - I ain't exactly rich by far!)
If this is what is expected of me, then someone (or someones, as the case may be) need to get their head on straight and THINK!
Now that my rant is out of the way - and, as mentioned, I've probably pissed said pissed relative off further with the facts/truth of the situation - I'm returning to my stress-free lifestyle.
Seriously, this whole thing is so pathetic and I know I can't be the only person who thinks as such ...
and, friends/relatives ... if you hear (more) b.s. like this through the rumourmill, let me know and don't be afraid t'get in touch with me to set the story straight.
it's people's belief in the bullshiite that keeps this shiite going in the first place.
