The Weekend At A Glance ["Attentive" Waitresses, ER, Old Friends, & Alice Cooper!]
The Weekend At A Glance:
this was one HELL of a damn fun weekend!
the trip there-and-back was roughly 3 1/2hrs each way - not bad a'tall, since both ways including (mild) construction and traffic near the Cities itself.
plus I'm damn happy with the zune car-thingy *grins*... being able to play MY own music over the car's speakers was fun/cool!
the hotel was comfy and decent... and had more amenities than they post(ed) on their website!
fridge in the room (and here I brought my cooler - damn them to iowa) as well as a computer in the lobby for guests.
being literally less than 5mins from the venue was a nice touch as well (heh).
Satyr's Day was damn intriguing...!
for lunch I ate (alone) at the Olive Garden (yes, finally!) and had a very... attentive... waitress
(she kept touching my neck and/or shoulders when talking to me and at one point was even playing with my hair... I've never had service like that at an Olive Garden - or anywhere - before... and, no, I didn't complain
)
taking in an afternoon film with a friend I hadn't seen in a long-ass time was enjoyable as well - though I may've bored her with my convo? *grins* - sorry, Shantel! I'll be less boring next time!
after the flick had tea, convo, music, and ER visit with a friend/roommate-from-the-past... and, yes, you read that right. ER - he sliced part of his hand open when "prepping" food. I think he'll live, but we did have one of the nurses and the doctor laughing/joining in.
getting home late that night was talking to my PD nigh immediately after parking with queries ranging from where I was to drugs... until they (finally) realized I'd JUST gotten there after being gone for hours - it seems someone'd been selling drugs in the parking lot. Gotta love timing? They didn't seem to like my humour though - even when I laughingly mentioned the ER visit prior. *shrugs*
Sunday? Alice Cooper, baby! Helsyeh!
Seriously, the show was worth every penny and then-some!
I knew/recognized, quite literally, TEN people that were at the show from various "stages" of my life - was damn fun/cool... though I admit some of the convos were VERY short ones - sorry guys, next time, mayhaps?
Even b.s.'d with a couple of guys that I shortly thereafter learned with there from a local radio station (and were broadcasting live before the show *grins*)... talked with one of 'em after the show as well - very cool guys!
And, yes, of course, met a shiiteload of other people and have intriguing convos as well *smiles*.
Opening band : Pop Evil - a surprisingly damn good band that started off the show itself on a great note.
Alice Cooper - good gods, there's a reason they call(ed) him the Showman! I'd do it again... damn, damn fun!
I took a bunch of pics and vids - including a vid of the second encore... dunno if they turned out but as soon as I get them off the camera, we'll see
...here's hopin' they mostly turned out good!
Being 4 rows back from the stage, center, was a great spot... and didn't hurt being surrounded by a group of very energetic people who got the crowd on their feet just prior to Alice!
Was funny, too, since the 10th person I knew/recognized was the guy immediately to my right... I didn't realize at first that I used to drink with him at the bars years ago! (heh)
Only bad thing? Weekend's over
arrived back earlier than expected so picked up the much-needed(?) microwave and DVD player before returning the rental car...
DVD player works great - haven't even opened the microwave (yet)... I need to clean a spot to put it - the spot I used to have it I have put other things since that I kinda like there *ponders* - wonder where/if I should move it? Probably keep it in the kitchen - safer bet?
btw - want to throw off a cashier/salesman? Ask them if the tuba is an acceptable form of currency - it completely throws them for a loop for nearly a minute (heh).
I know - I'm evil sometimes... but then I wouldn't be me, would I?
...and, yes, I think this area needs to get some of those "overly attentive" waitresses! I'm still not absolutely certain she was flirting or just going for a helluva tip - but I didn't mind it in the least!!
[ ladies, feel free and consider that a hint/tip - I don't mind having my shoulders/neck touched nor my hair played with *grins happily*
...and if it's not in a restaurant, I may just reciprocate

( "Godfuck Me, Jesus!" )
( *breathe ... relax ... kill ... rinse ... repeat* )
( "In a previous life I was the engine block to a '56 chevy, I lost my heart to a Volkswagen Bus... er, wait - or was that a '57?" )
"Oh, man. I'm sensing something very canadian about this place..."
"It's all true, god's an astronaut, Oz is over the rainbow, and Midian is where the monsters live..."
