yes, I'll be missing my 20yr class reunion - but I had the CONvergence plans set in stone long before the reunion came up.
yes, Satyr's Day will be 10yrs since my sister passed (the reason I missed my 10yr)... has it really been that long? (wow)
sadly I got to overhear a co-worker bitchin' about the fact I took the time off - and to think I agreed to cut my initial time off short and work the Tues after the 4th so she could celebrate her b'day.
if I hear any complainin'/bitchin' about it tomorrow, I may just walk into the bosses office and ask to be returned to my initial approved time off and let her deal with working the 5th.
seriously, she's just recently back from taking more time off for her uncle's death than I took off for my MOTHER's death two years ago... and I was out of state while she was within minutes of work the whole time.
she has lost any sympathy from me on this and I am just a step away from confronting her about the bitchin' and working the 5th.
*deep sigh* I shouldn't complain, I shouldn't, but petty bitching like that is pissing me the hell off.
ANYways...
*breathe ... relax ... kill ... rinse ... repeat*
Here's hoping my "olde" classmates have a good weekend way, way, way up north while I'm surrounded by eclectic and oftimes eye-candy-level CONgoers *grins*.
and, yes, I know I'll get through Satyr's Day just fine. It's the first couple years that were the roughest - she was THE familial connection for me, as well as an advisor in many things for me...
I haven't found another since. ( I suppose that's similar to when my best friend died back in '99 and never having another since )
In case I don't post again until after CON is over - have a wonderful week/weekend, all... and with any luck I'll see some of ya before another decade has passed!
