Bits And Bits And RAMBLING Bits...
In the past couple weeks I've gotten new shoes and new belts to replace ones on their last legs.
CONvergence is a mere week and a bit away, so I should probably start preparing what I'm going to be bringing.
Should probably get a cheap cooler for the hotel room, in case I want to keep something cold for a change.
Other than these entries, there's only a couple people that go to/have been to CON that know it'll be my last year (for awhile)...
not sure if I should let any of my CONfriends know - it seems strange/odd to tell people I've only seen/known at CON that I won't be there next year.
...maybe I'll mention it only if it comes up in convo. *ponders*
I actually had someone mention I shouldn't bring/wear my usual humerous Ts "because people will remember them and not [me]."
mayhaps... but if it gives them something to talk about or a reason to talk to me, why is it so bad?
the few people who've known me a long time know that I'm usually quite shy... until I feel "secure/comfortable enough" to be myself. Then I drive people nuts *grins*.
People start convos with me, not me with them. I've never been able to simply just "talk" to someone I don't know without them initiating it in some fashion.
Doesn't help either most of the people I've kept contact with or have kept contact with me for a decade or longer have... left.
Weird as well is people I haven't been in contact with but more than a decade ago are reconnecting... at least, "digitally." *ponders*
I admit, it gets quiet/lonely at times - but I'm well used to it.
Hells, I can count on one hand and have fingers left over how many non-relatives have even SEEN my apartment.
Since I moved to the Cities less than the fingers on one hand of non-related people I've known longer than a decade have visited me anyways, so not a real surprise.
It's intrigued me how as I moved from tiny town to bigger town to small "city" to metropolis I've known less and less people.
oh well, this entire post has diverged from whatever it's initial intent even was in the first place, so I should probably just end it.
I suppose it is akin to my natural rambling connectivity, nonetheless.
Avoid midgets - they aim low.
