Wet Rat, PO'd Neighbors
Yehhhh...
after the lovely walk in to work this morning - and the fact that nearly an hour later my pants are still soaked and my hair is making me look like a wet rat - I'm going to have to definately move "umbrella" up on my list of need-to-gets.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
humerously I got bitched out this morning by a neighbor... perhaps I should explain :
Last week (and once again, 2nd time this year already!) the building gave out reminders of the parking policies for the apartment lots - simple and obvious things such as "without a parking tag, your vehicle will be towed," "cars with garage tags must be parked in garages or will be towed," "absolutely no resident tags in visitor spots or will be towed," "must be in working order/driveable condition (no flat tires...) or will be towed," and so on. Pretty standard and straightforward stuff.
Can't remember if it was late Friday or early Monday, but I noticed a car in the lot with a completely shattered windshield - and I mean completely shattered - so I called the office and asked if they were aware of it, since that kind of thing is unusual for this area.
Several days pass and this morning the car is gone - and it's owner was by the entry door downstairs and, it seems, had heard I was the one who mentioned it and was a bit PO'd. Bitched at me on various things like he can "park his car wherever he wants in any condition he pleases," etc. etc. - to which I simply responded maybe he should re-read the parking policies we had just received for the 2nd time this year and that, yes, if I see a vehicle in the lot that looks damaged I will be calling the office again so it at least gets reported, in case the trouble happened in this area. To which he - and this is the humerous part - had the balls to (attempt to) threaten me "subtly." Because I take threats seriously, having had to deal with that kind of shiite before, sadly, a simple mention that if he threatens me again there will be police involvement made him storm off angrily. <-- humour!
ANYways... this wet rat is gettin' back t'work now.
