got the hotel set-up post-work for the April O'ahu/Hawai'i trip ... followed a few minutes later, unfortunately, with getting news of my good friend passing who'd been fighting terminal-stage cancer for about 2yrs now *sighs*

gotta take the good with the bad - they're keeping the news as down-low as possible until all of the family & friends are informed - but since no one...

334 days into the year and 363 poems written - I failed months ago in my year goal of writing a poem a day, but still...
having written more than a poem per day of the year thus far ain't a bad consolation, is it ?
even if the poetic quality, I'm sure, is less than desirable *smirks*

flight is booked & shuttle set-up to get to/from home-to-airport/airport-to-home ... this will be THE longest flight(s) I've ever taken, not to mention this will be the first flight with a layover/flight switch ( they only had non-stop for the return trip available ) *excited*

dates are approved & set for next year's springtide foray to warmer climes & island culture as to yet unexplored & enjoyed by me - now comes the harder part of setting flights, hotel, & pre-planning any excursions where plotting aforehand is suggested... how long 'til mid-April ?

I'm proud of my daughters, they had very good trimester grades - my youngest with only one B, my eldest with a couple Cs & B...
this change obviously did them well... hopefully it continues & I don't have to worry as we've had to previously
I know things are only going to become tougher for them - not just as school continues, but life...

kinda nice having no "holiday" expectations - as long as no one's dumb enough to knock on my door, I can be naked for the next 37hrs without expectation ... or complaints, for that matter ;)
