Mine is the Charlie Brown Christmas. I'm not hugely religious, but the Linus speech always gets me, and the way it causes the gang to actually think about their actions and amend them. Plus, who hasn't had a poor good ol Charlie Brown tree that needed loving? Assuming, of course, that you celebrate the holiday. Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, frosty the snowman, the year...

The Grinch is number one for me, with Charlie Brown being a close second.

@rambo It will probably seem trivial to the younger users here, but chatspeak used in person or in normal postings or blogs drives me nuts. I always try to make sure I use correct grammar and proper spelling because that's how I was taught. It drives me batty to see people using chatspeak out of sheer laziness or inability to spell. For texting, I can...

Oh dear lord, yes. I thoroughly detest when people use chatspeak in every day interactions.
oneimill:
Dude! Thank you. I can't even stand it in texts. I don't want to carry around a "real language to abbreviation" translation book.

@dmaggot, Everyone should imbibe copious amounts of caffeine to celebrate the mondays away! This new holiday is to honor Dave Maggot, the patron saint of caffeine and coffee. An alternative method of honoring the day is getting sloshed and posting on teh intrawebs!

oneimill:
Hmmm. I'm going to use this day to see if I can get out of work.
dmaggot:
@oneimill On St. Maggot's Day an option for practicing is day off of work while still getting paid time and a half.

1. You're just that cool.

2. You had a new set come out.

3. You post fun things in the groups.

4. Someone mentioned you in a popular comment.

5. Something of yours (post, blog, pic, etc) made the front page.

6. They like you! They really like you! (Sally Field reference. You're probably too young.)

7. It's a conspiracy!

8. People agree with a...

@charmaine It would have to be the turkey, mashed potatoes and corn. Mashed potatoes ALWAYS needs corn, and I've combined them all my life. For Thanksgiving, I cut up and add the turkey (usually a butterball) slices to the mixture. Gravy can be added, if needed. My mashed potatoes are pealed, then boiled (real Maine potatoes), then mashed with milk, pepper and butter. Blended might...

My favorite group would have to be a toss up between the "Silliness" group and the "Sex Talk" group. Possibly leaning towards the "Silliness". Both groups are fun and enlightening. The "Silliness" group is endlessly amusing and at times stretches your imagination to come up with something humorous and relevant. The "Sex Talk" group can also be very funny, arousing and also educational. Humor is...

@charmaine, My most influential author would undeniably be J R R Tolkein. He started all fantasy for me. However, my favorite author would have to be Robert Jordan. His Wheel of Time series sucked me in and never released me. I spent almost 20 years waiting eagerly for the next book to come out. I can't tell you how many times I've reread them. Sadly,...

@onyxheart My favorite things to do, is collect things. Stamps, coins, comics, bottles, etc. I love the feel and look of something that has some age to it. I think it has to do with my love of history. I've done much better with comics than I did with stamps and coins, but I still save every silver dollar, half-dollar, wheat penny, silver coin, silver...

@charmaine, I've been racking my brain trying to come up with something supernatural that I've experienced and was drawing a blank. However, there was one story in college that I can share with you. There's always stories about how this student had killed herself in a dorm and continued to haunt the floor in the building. So a few young students were fooling around with...
