I got this cool new book about Pirates and the kinds of ships and weapons and hideouts and tactics they used. It's a geek book, but it's still very interesting.

On your religious rant, I'm not sure what to say. My childhood was almost completely without religion of any kind. The only times I set foot in a church were with friends' families and once for a wedding. I've never understood organized religion and it's always kind of frightened me. I've watched many people go through difficult times and when they preyed for help and nothing happened, they went through the same thing you described; They gave up on their faith.
