I've had my lip pierced (2x) for awhile now (I got the first one 9 years ago and the other side last year), they're definitely my favorite of my piercings especially since I've taken most of the other ones out. They look good. Are you going to keep the curved studs or switch to hoops? I like my seemless ones a lot. When I had the ball it got in the way too many times.

Hi,
I got linked to a comment of yours in the hair group:

if you want to do a permanent color, for a really fucking fright traffic light red, use wella's 77/44. it's incredibly bright and lasts a LOT longer than semipermanent color. also, unless you have black black hair, you don't have to bleach. never use it with peroxide above 20 volume, though, because it'll fade more quickly.

I like the sound of the one you suggested. Where can someone like me (not professional) get it?
Is there anything I should know about applying it?
thanks

getting set up by one's parents:

so here's what happened: my dad was talking to a good family friend, and she mentioned that her son, who just returned from living in hong kong and london for a while, reporting for the bbc, has returned home and is feeling a little lonely, because he's single and most of his friends have moved away. (he's 28, i'm...

weight watchers update: down about 15 pounds since i started. it feels really good.

in other news: yesterday was the worst day ever: car got towed, had major issues with bank, saw terrible documentary about satanist priest that was made by best friend's neighbor and therefore couldn't walk out. also beginning to think that the psychiatrist who diagnosed me with bipolar disorder two years ago...

Your salon got a lot of good reviews on Yelp! I'm thinking of getting a choppy cut soon but want to find someone super talented who doesn't yet charge a sh*tload of $. Do you do cuts and/or color outside of work, ever, or even take models at work?

i went to my second weight watchers meeting today. i'm down 2.5 pounds. i couldn't stop grinning for like 3 hours.

this feels really good.

That video I posted was for Toni Braxton's "Breathe Again"
A really lame song from the early 90's I think.

I was trying to make a funny but I blew it!

i have a job. it's a pretty good one, as an assistant to a pretty cool stylist.
i like where i work.

the problem is: i don't feel like i have anything to learn from him. he does every female haircut the same way, and it's boring. but i don't want to leave.
nageboorte:
you sound quite torn about the gig... maybe you could moonlight at some place with people that experiment more.

you are right about him thinking it's going to be super easy. he is easily ten times better at letting his hygiene go to shit than myself, so he has that advantage.
but i have a couple of things that might help me pull this off.
1. we have a wedding to go to on saturday, and he might be pressured into shaving. (as i won't buckle)
2. this is the big one, his girlfriend hates the beard and always makes him shave. she gets back in town in a month, so if it comes down to it i feel i will win then no matter what.
can almost smell the victory biggrin

That's a tough spot to be in...
If you're not learning from him though, does that really benefit you?

i find it entertaining as well, also profitable tongue
the rules are easy;
-no shaving or trimming (except for neck, for professional/income purposes, but nothing above the neck area can be touched)
-first one to shave or trim above given area loses.
victory = 100$

easy money.

Don't know the story behind your blog but just dropped by to say that this pic in your hopefulls set is way cute! biggrin

My older half brother is a scumsucking, drug-addicted loser. My father (also his father) is a terrible enabler, pays all of his bills, and basically allows him to steal from my family and screw up our lives. He was caught trying to steal my little sister's computer, and GOT AWAY WITH IT. (not stealing the computer, but trying).

My little sister has a bicycle that...

cool. are you a fan of vandermeer?
kid_hideous:
sorry - that's Jeff VanderMeer, "City of Saints and Madmen" -
great novelist, very much in the literate fantasy mode of mieville.

so, i'm back in the bay area now, finally, after living in that pit of despair that is los angeles for the past year or so. and i've noticed i have this really odd propensity to run into people i haven't seen in a long time. sometimes, i run into them literally. i collided on fillmore street with an old college friend. and last night...

holy shit, guys. my hair changed completely today.

i cut it off, and the mohawk's back with a vengeance.

i stripped out the old color, too, and it's all back to my natural, in preparedness for making it strawberry blonde on monday.

i'll post pictures when i'm feeling less lazy.

ps--it is AMAZING that all the color came out, it never ever happens this way...

does it feel nice to have a nice cool breeze on the head for the summer?
then again, venice does get the sea breeze to keep the heat down...
