lol- you know- 'check your head' is responsible for much of my playing style.

it was the first time i was introduced to the funk revival sound. growing up- i always used to hate jazzy drum sounds- i liked the clean cutting tones of fusion ( puke i know...)

now i own 4 drum kits from late 60's early 70's biggrin

aiiight- i'm off- take it E-Z FunkSoulSistah!

Well yeah. I guess it is sad we weren't in touch before. Though - and please don't take this personally - my own experience with all things social and internet is that getting along in a journal or a chat room or even over the phone is really quite different from real life and thus....it's pointless to speculate.

I was in Seattle between October 1998 and December 2000. So yes, we were in the North West at the same time.

I meant it was sad because my membership will run out this year. I still can't figure out if it's March or June....or somewhere in between, but it'll definitely be up by the Summer holiday. So....yeah...missed out on talking with someone who actually knows who R.A.Wilson is.

Anyway, I don't plan on renewing. My own social life and needs grow further apart from what SG can give me. Sometimes I think maybe I'm not trying hard enough to keep in touch with everyone...and then I wonder if it shouldn't be a little easier than this...that if it's good, it'll sort of have a life of it's own....you know?

***

You know RAWilson is pretty much my hero? No single person has had as great an impact on me as he has. I have moved onto and explored so much just because of him.

The documentary? DO you mean "Maybe Logic"? I plan on ordering that actually. That and the Disinfo DVD series and their big book on the Occult and Magick.

***

Well....the SGUK community are friendly, and have been friendly to me. I'm sure you could get to know some of them. And if you come this side of the pond and look me up, I'll certainly help you feel welcome.

In honor of poetry day and coming spring, I humbly present this offering from the amazing Miss Emily Dickinson ~

A fuzzy fellow, without feet,
Yet doth exceeding run!
Of velvet, is his Countenance,
And his Complexion, dun!

Sometime, he dwelleth in the grass!
Sometime, upon a bough,
From which he doth descend in plush
Upon the Passer-by!

All this in summer.
But when winds...

Thank you for the transatlantic hugs ... much appreciatedsmile

You like that old black cat do you ? well shes called Poppy and I would let her stay with me but she has the irritating habit of walking on your head at 4am and demanding attention . She comes in the window during the summer and ruins a lovely dream by leaping on you and demanding food.

I love Tannith Lee!
actually I've only read the flat earth series (repeatedly) and the wolf tower series- one - I think that's what it's called- young adult type stuff, as opposed to the flat earth, which is adult adult.

when I first read Night's master, it was around the time of tipper Gore and all of the warning labels coming out. Give or take a year. I must have read it in 6th grade, because I forgot it in my language arts class room, and my teacher eventually returned it to me with great misgivings.
I clearly remember reading this part, and not getting it, and being sure that there was some deliciuos adult secret hidden behind all of the imagery.
"The phallus of the Demon, (neither icy nor burning), enterered him as a king enters a kingdom conquered, adoring, his by right of surrender. The phallus was a tower which pierced the gate, the vitals of the citadel of his inner world."

I thought it was great that I could read all sorts of things, (Piers Anthony, author of the charmingly all ages xanthe books also wrote some books with dirty bits, as I discovered. ) but that a movie with boobs in it or a cd that said "Fuck" I might not be able to see or hear.

anyway,
DSL on the 20th!!!!

ahh the tree of life is a beautiful sigil of the man/woman and the universe. great fun.

the tree is split into three "branches" or pillars. One down the middle, represeting the pure and balanced energy of divinity, and one on each the left and the right. the left and the right represent all the opposite tendencies of things (intellect/emotion and so on)
treeoflife

yesod is #9, and where all three pillars merge; thus it is a place of resolution and combination. it is related to the moon, and to the astral dreamscape. The spiritual state identified in Chassidut as corresponding to the sefirah of yesod is that of emet (truth), in the sense of the power to "verify" one's convictions and emotions in action and to achieve true self-fulfillment in life.

endings are always so hard. its so much more fitting to go down in flames than to simply feel the cold seep into yr bones until there is no warmth to be found. it does, indeed, sound harrowing.

however, yay that yr returning to a dreaming place - yr dreams will always eventually be found.

love as always!

Sweet, it does my heart good to know that you are finding such joy in your life. Winter will soon be on its way out the door, if February goes nearly as fast as January seemed to.
You will be doing the gardening and outdoor meditation in no time.

Much admiration,
