New job!!

Well, I don't start for a month (I'm working my notice), but it's looking good.

It's for a medical school, which will suit me better than working for a marketing company (as I do now).

The commute might be a bit sucky, but all in all I'm looking forward to it.

I've just about recovered from my weekend.

I went to see Spiritualized at Newcastle on Saturday.
They were amazing. Some new songs, some crowd pleasers.
I was there with my friend, who is a really big fan of theres, and managed to get us back stage passes.

I couldn't believe it when I was in the dressing room casually chatting to Jason Pearce. Very odd....

Whooooot for recovery!!! (or is that "3 cheers"?) *giggles*

Mmmmmm . . . envies the cozy Spiritualized show.

I need a new dawg too. Editing photos on this machine is starting to become . . . ummmm . . . rather frightening.

You make me glow.

The spring arrived in a week.

It was so nice and sunny yesterday it made me feel really relaxed. I decided to go to Brighton for a day trip: I usually hook up with my cousin there, but she never answered my text this time.

The weird thing there was that the coast itself: right were the sea meets the beach, was really misty. The...

Hi-ho! biggrin

Our spring equinox consisted of much drinking and walking in massively pouring rain. It has been so dry this winter, very un-oregon like, so the rain has really made all the bulbs and buds pop out. Whoo! eeek So many shades of green in the spring!

Have you heard The Kings of Convenience? We saw them recently, and I was amazed! Very melodic, thoughtful, fun riffs and lyrics and perfect control of the crowd. They had everyone in a hush of reverence. Good stuff.

Busy at work : it sucks (but thinking that makes me realise that I'm spoilt).

Also busy at home, making a Dutch music website. That's frustrating but satisfying.

I have an itching at the back of my skull to go and listen to some loud music in a bad rock club (are there any good rock clubs??)
matt_organic:
I think a good rock club would defeat the point somehow.

Back in London after a long weekend visiting my folk in the countryside. That was lovely. I spent time gazing at the the far distant horizon: something I never get to do in the city.

I'm wondering more and more just why it is that I live here. Friends and gigs. That's it.

I finally got off my backside and went to the cinema last night. I opted for 'I, Robot' in the end. It did exactly what I wanted it to: killed a couple of hours. It was easy to watch and not too offensive (except for the product placement early on).

Maybe I should have gone tp see 'King Arthur' instead: there's no way they could...

My lunchtimes are typically spent sitting around the work canteen loudly discussing highly offensive topics of conversation with the other temps. Purely to annoy the permanent staff.

I enjoyed both I, Robot and King Arthur myself.

yes yes welcome aboard and all that

*Yawn*

The end of a very lazy Saturday evening here at headbones hq.
I've spent all evening vegitating in the house. Not a bad thing: I think I needed it.

I have created a friendster account tonight (after getting an invitation). I'm in two minds about inviting anyone else: in a perverse way I want to be on friendster with only one friend.

As seems...

I went to another gig this week (another backroom of a bar thing).
This time they were a Canadian band called the Dears, recommended by someone I met in Holland last week.

The singer sounds an awful lot like Morrisey sometimes, and then an awful lot like Daman Albarn (from Blur) at other times. To tell you the truth, most of the music wasn't...

More art and more music.
I went to an exhibition on Friday.
It was the opening night of the first exhibition of a friend of mine. The exhibition was called 'Music shouldn't look like this' and I was really impressed with a lot of it: a wall of vinyl lps in particular (see my pics).

Another friend of mine was providing the music on the...

Somehow I ended up at the aftershow party. Well, not that mysterious really: my friend was DJing there, so I had a big of a boogy.

All that on a school night: I was very bleary eyed the next day.

This week seems to have dragged on and on: lasting for ever. It's still only Thursday! Never mind: I'm sure the weekend will prove wonderful after all that.

The most pleasant thing that happened this week is that I discovered I can easily get to Hyde Park in my lunch hour. I can look forward to spending my sunny lunch times wandering around in an...
