I would have never thought sobriety could be so uneventful. I am going to have to go to the library because I am fresh out of literature. Incidentally I highly recomend Soul On Ice by Eldridge Cleaver.
So check this... I left my computer on overnight and was playing on it the following day(yesterday) when it started making disturbing sounds. I'm not talking pings and...

Well now, it's been only a day of class and already I want to strangle one of my proffs. What is it about some teachers that makes them inclined to listen to and discuss the most idiotic comments or observations? Why is it that I expect any more from these Philosophy proffs then I am accustomed to receiving? God only knows.
Anyways, so today, to...

So, I return to class tomorrow after a half-year hiatus. Hopefully this period of extended apathy will inspire a renewed interest in academics.
Unfortunately, I am taking 2 courses, a religious studies and a sociology, that I have no desire to be in and had to choose based on availability rather than curiosity. However, my philosophy courses will likely be interesting and, provided I attend...

as always, A perfect Circle, the new Radiohead, and a best of Birthday Party cd which is sure to have me howling at the moon by midnight....

thankee. the pic of which you speak is like ... fuck must be 3 years old by now. my how time flies. it's not actually of me, but my alter-ego Shadow Ryan, who controls my body after i drink to the point of blacking out. the fight was between me and a good friend, who had also drankened quite a bit by then, so it was more of a fight-club type thing that we used to do alot back then that got a little out of hand. i'm pretty sure most of that is my blood, however.
that said, good luck with not smoking and school. 2 things i hate most in life are probably school and not being high. not being high is a good thing, and school can be too if you use it right. unfortunately i know too many kids who are graduating with nothing other than a diploma, which is a problem. i'm done after this semester myself, and i'm fucking glad. huge waste of money, but i guess i'll end up doing something with it should i ever get around to applying to med schools.
not to be discouraging, but i've never met a reformed procrastinator, so work hard and do it. i procrastinate and it's made my life about 10x harder than it should have been.
amon tobin's got this remixes/collaboration 2xLP out that's pretty good, i especially like this one track he did with kid koala. i got this other album by Omid with some good emcees on it, and it's okay. acey's on a track on there.
this other guy diplo's got some new jams that come recommended but i haven't bought.
dunno. i haven't gotten too many new jams recently. new rachel's and new explosions in the sky if you're inta that stuff. new aesop rock.
by the way. haha. iron chef canada. that's hilarious. i'd like iron chef canada to beat the fuck outta bobby flay. that'd be good TV.

I guess it is possible to have too much of a good thing as I just listened to the stereo mc's album so much I am now sick of that which was once my favorite. Anyways, cudos to you kiddos for your awesome musical suggestions a few entries back. They were all great recomendations and my player is, thankfully, now sporting some formidable acoustic rhythms....

mmmmmmmmm. Chocolate bodypaint. Now I can play with my food. Yay! biggrin

The blues always do a great job of getting rid of the blues. Thank god for saxophones and harmonicas.

nothing cheers you up like some chocolate and some booty.
I am going to make a killing selling my new year's ticket at the door. I don't know why i ever bought it but the concept of paying $50 to go to some glow-stick festival, even though it's in the science center, seems silly, especially since I can sell the ticket for $100 at the door. Well that and I found out all my freinds going there are getting high and I don't want to be tempted or disgusted, either of which is possible. On top of that i have two uber-neato parties I can go to and I'm off the hook in terms of responsibilities. Now I just need my car fixed quick so I can go to the island. mad If I don't have it for New Year's I am going to be choked! eeek

Thanks for the sweet comment about my set, sweetie. And yes, the tattoo on my shoulder is a marionette. kiss
Happy New Year!

I need to get up get out and get something, can't spend all my time trying to get high! Need to get up get out and get something, how will I make it if I never even try?

Sadly no proverb, expression, truism or saying rings truer to heart then these simple words from Outkast. Sheesh.

X-mas sucked but seeing old friends made me see...

oh yay! thank diggity, really, he hipped me to them. I have all this choreography in my head to it...hopefully someday it will hit a stage.
yeah I'd say it was my fave album of the year.
Digs and I were in chat talking about the exact pinnacle moments of certain songs... like 2:15 in "there is no there"... and my fave-2:34 of "take time" Makes me go insane!!!!
I soooooooo want to choreograph to that!
I could go on...
and on... I really can't say enough about it.
well my new name is in response to the NYT article for some reasons I don't want to discuss...suffice to say I wanted to feel a little less exposed and deter people from finding me for a little while. You are welcome to stop by anytime though...
I do adore my new prfoile pic though. I think I will keep it for a while!

Bah humbug!
X-mas sucks a nut. I know, I'm a grinch and good for me, but really, when I was younger I was allowed only one christmas and it has forever left me scarred. Though I hate the artificial sentiment and christy religiousness of it all, I know the joy of stockings and a tree and presents(Don't think I ever believed in Santa though frown )....

Don't be telling me what you got for x-mas unless it's super nifty. I don't need to be jealous or envious of anymore ppl. What I got sucks. If you knew anything about me, or had taken a look at my bookshelf once, in the countles times you've been over, then you'd know, as thoughful and appropriate as it is, I already have this particular che guevara book and by throwing out the receipt (you probably lifted it form somewhere you cracker!) you've in effect, bought me a nice paperweight! mad

Sometimes I'll tune in to oldies to relax and wonder; what happened to music? I don't mean to sound like a bloody hippie but what happened to pop music? Most oldies were popular during their heyday and you can't deny that, aside from any nostalgic value they might have, most of them are pleasing to the ear. In fact most of them are about something...

Well, today I was roaming the boards when I came across a good thread.. worst movie you've ever seen. Behold

obsidity:
I really should put puffy amiyumi under "vices"
I would say that they are a perfectly post modern band, in that they take a bunch of signature styles and make a new song out of them. Like "the Matrix".
However, I don't think they (ami and yumi) thought of it. and for that I am sad. but "planet Tokyo" is a really fun stupid song. And I like japanese girls singing in english, it's cute.

My friend had a longboard and she and I would sit on it together and ride past a shopping center ,down a hill near our house, screaming and laughing our asses off. Silly, but really fucking fun.
