also today i discovered that alkyd paint, unlike latex paint, refuses to wash off in water, primarily because it's oil based. so when you try to wash your hands, your hands just get covered in paint. and then the paint gets everywhere else because it sticks to everything it touches. i was very, very purple in a pathetically short amount of time.
