okay, so, god only knows what i'm leaving out. post-london blogging seems foolish to me for some reason. which explains my extreme lack of updates, but that's okay because no one really reads this with the possible exceptions of sun and mya.
last weekend tim and i trucked out to boston to see the sounds of the underground tour. for the uninitiated, it's metal and hardcore bands and totally sweet. we went for gwar and cannibal corpse who played back to back sets and basically made my life. my andrew wk tshirt that i aquired in houston prior to coming to colgate is now an odd shade of green and red from the fake blood and puss i got soaked with. cannibal corpse played "hammer smashed face" and "stripped raped and strangled" so i was pretty satisfied with their set too. they were no ministry, though.
speaking of bands, tool is warming up for a fall tour for the first time since i fucking came back from japan in high school. i totally cannot wait to see them again, it's been far too long (even with two APC concerts in the interim). isis is opening this tour, which is amazingly cool because i 1)worship isis and 2)definately have been doing so since way before they were announced as an opener. and to think i was crossing my fingers for skinny puppy?
i've got about two weeks left here to paint for the summer. i have no idea what i am doing in august, but hopefully it will involve renee as i have only seen her for 8 days this year thusfar and i need to get it up to at least ten. i've finally got my one painting just about where i want it and i have a few others in progress. luckily i never promised anything product-wise in my funding application so anything i do is a success.
on a final note, i'm still torturing myself over my latest crush. i thought i was over it for a bit but she's going back to romania for a few weeks soon and i invited her over for a home-cooked meal and some drinks. we talked for ages and then watched tool bootlegs in my room while drinking port. so i'm right back where i started from, and there's not many ways i could possibly be more in love with this girl right now, yeesh. maybe the fall will bring glad tidings of her wanting to suck face with me, because lord knows i didn't have the huevos to tell her how i felt this summer. although to be fair, when i say "torture" i mean it in a very positive, exhilarating way, which is of course the product of not pining away for a bloated soul-sucking harpy for once. whoops, i just broke rule number 2 again. oh well.
so basically, i'm having my best non-japanese summer this year. i've done some decent work, i've chilled out and spent a lot of time with people who i cherish and who cherish me. i've done some travelling, and i've fallen in love again though she has yet to be informed of it. i'm pretty goddamned content right now, frankly and honestly.
